Songfic - Would You Be So Kind by dodie.

I have a question, it might seem strange

"Will you marry me?" Rory spun round to face Amy.

It was at best a surprise, yet he was entirely serious. So it hurt a little when she laughed at him.

"You are funny sometimes," she declared in her thick Scottish accent. Her face fell, "Wait... You're serious?"

He just mumbled something before nodding, the confidence in him completely gone.

"Well then..." She paused for effect. "Yes!"

His head shot up. "Really?"

"Yes you daft thing! Of course I will!" She kissed him gently.

How are your lungs? Are they in pain?

"Well this is-" she paused to cough harshly, "-inconvenient."

"Just a bit." Rory murmured, stroking her flaming hair, "Trust you to get flu just before our wedding. We have to postpone it now!" He chuckled softly at her.

"Whoops." She giggled gorgeously, before coughing again.

"It's alright Amy. I'll look after you." He said to her with a lopsided grin.

"You always do."

Cause mine are aching, think I know why

"You disappeared on our wedding night! Sometimes I feel like I love you more than you love me!" The nurse yelled.

"That's not true!" The angry Scot replied.

"Oh really? What about your doctor? You would leave me for him, wouldn't you?" An intense glare met Amy's.

"I'm so sorry. I really do love you." She whispered.

"Oh Amy. I love you too. I just wish you'd take us more seriously sometimes." He held his now-wife in his arms, and there they stayed.

I kinda like it though, you wanna try

"Oh shut up and kiss both of you!" The Doctor teased, straightening his bow tie.

The pair looked at each other and shrugged. With that, they walked out the door into 17th century Paris.

"Wow." Amy gasped.

Rory offered his arm to her. "What do you think? Good enough for the Williams family?"

She took it and responded with, "Always. I'm with you after all."

"You mean the Pond family?" The Doctor grinned. Noticing the look on their faces - somewhere between amusement and annoyance - he went back into the TARDIS.

"I'll pick you up in a couple hours. Don't do anything I wouldn't do!"

Oh would you be so kind as to fall in love with me, you see I'm trying

Rory couldn't show her planets and stars and a thousand alien species, but one thing he could do was give her the best Valentine's Day ever.

"Rory..." She breathed from behind him. "It's stunning."

The restaurant was the definition of romantic, and being Rory, he managed to get her the most special table with a perfect view of the city.

"I needed to show you how much you mean to me."

"Guess what?" Amy looked down to the rose petals on the ground.

He raised an eyebrow inquisitively.

"I'm pregnant..." She looked up nervously.

"Oh my god Amy! That's amazing!" He ran over to her and wound his hand into her curls as their lips met.

"Happy Valentine's Day." She said with a smile.

I know you know that I like you but that's not enough

Rory fell to his knees. "Please... Help me."

Amy looked between the Doctor and her husband despairingly. They were both trapped, and she only had time to reach one of them before the beam took them up to the cybership.

"Oh for god's sake!" She ran to Rory, pulling him towards her. "I can't lose you, you daft man." She said with a laugh.

"You nearly lost us both."

"I know. I froze. But I'll always choose you, I will."

So if you will please fall in love

"I can't do this! Rory, I can't!" The six-month pregnant woman sighed frustratedly.

He smiled at her. Without a word, he grabbed exactly what she was craving (fish fingers and custard, of course), a hot water bottle and a movie.

"You can. I know you can." He told her.

"This is why I love you." She sniffled.

He simply pressed play on the movie in response. Four movies later, the couple had fallen asleep intertwined smiling at the love of their life.

I think it's only fair, there's got to be some butterflies somewhere, wanna share?

Rory reached out for one of the Maltesers balancing on the growing bump. She slapped his hand away.

"No! You should've learnt by now not to make a hormonal Scottish woman with a stomach the size of a watermelon angry!" She pouted at him before returning to the box in front of her.

He raised his hands in the air. "Ok, ok. I won't eat your maltesers, my dear wife." He paused. "Or should I call you hormonal Scottish woman with a stomach the size of a watermelon?" He grinned.

She huffed at him. "Fine. For being so adorable." Grudgingly, she shoved the box towards him.

"Seriously?"

"Yes! Before I change my mind." She said with a roll of her eyes.

"Wow. You need to get pregnant more often."

Cause I like you but that's not enough

Rory returned to his hysterical wife.

"What happened? Are you okay? Amy?" His jaw clenched as he cradled the sobbing woman.

"I am. The... The... The baby isn't..." She gasped in horror at saying it out loud.

"Oh Amy..." He sighed. "I'm so sorry."

"No, I'm sorry. You really wanted a baby, and now..." She trailed off in choked sobs.

"I want children, of course I do." He moved so that she faced him. "But I want you more."

She buried her face back into him, the only man that made her feel safe. How could she ever live without him?

So if you will please fall in love with me.

They grew old together, spending their days in Manhattan. They were known as famous detectives, a fitting end for a couple with so many adventures behind them. Eventually, after so many years, Amy and Rory Williams died side by side.

Together, always.
