Killua:
I am shaken aggressively by the movement of the entire building. My eyes dart open and I look around frantically. ‘What was that?! An earth quake?’ I wonder. Just as suddenly as it started, the shaking stopped. Then I ask myself, ‘When did I fall asleep?’
“Well that didn’t sound pleasant.” Layla mumbles from across the room. With all that happened I just now realize that I am no longer tangled in Machi’s Nen thread. ‘Did Machi let me down, or did Layla?’ I ask myself. ‘If it was Layla, how was she even able to release me?’
“How did I get down from there?” I ask her.
“You are down that’s all that matters.” She replies shortly.
“If it doesn’t matter then it shouldn't be a problem that you tell me.” I retort.
“Hm… touché kid.” She admits, “Alright, I was the one who let you down. I didn’t see any reason to leave you there, you can’t escape this room so why put you in more pain than necessary.”
“Because you are pne of the Spiders, that’s what you do right?”
“Well I am an official member.” She says excitedly as she shows off the numbered spider tattoo on her thigh. “But you seem to have the wrong idea about me, I am actually not like that at all. I do not kill unless I have to, and I do not hurt the innocent unless they get in the way.” ‘That sounds like Kurapika.’ I think. “And you seem to have misconceptions about the Phantom Troupe.” She adds.
“Then explain it to me.”
“It would take way too long I don’t want to explain, and frankly it isn’t your choice to what I do or do not say.” She replies. ‘Choice…’ that word echoes. Then I remember what Layla was telling me last night.
“I have a few questions, is that okay?” I ask her trying to hide the distain in my voice.
“Fire away. But I will only answer three questions.” She warns.
“Why only three?”
“If I answer that will count as question one.” She says haughtily.
“Ok, I get the picture. How did I end up asleep? I don’t remember feeling sleepy or even closing my eyes.”
“I put you to sleep with my voice, you are hurt and you need the rest.” She replies shortly.
“Why?”
“Do you really want to waste one of you three questions on that?”
“No.” I admit.
“Well I will tell you anyway, I just don’t like seeing kids in pain alright.”
“That’s seems very contradictory to the career you have chosen.” I retort.
“Just finish you questions before I decide to put a kid in pain.” She warns.
“Ok, ok; Why did you tell me that last night?”
“Tell you what?” She inquires.
“Why did you tell me that Chrollo wants to kill either Milly or Gon?” I ask feeling strangely calm.
“Oh, hmm… I guess because I was curious about your answer. I honestly don’t know if he really intends to kill any of them, if he does I doubt he will actually make the distinction he would just kill all of them. Perhaps it is because it would help me decide what I would do if I were put in that kind of a situation.” She seems to get lost in thought. “Well regardless, I don’t have a definitive answer for you so move on to your last question.”
