Trigger Warning // Miscarriage
--
In my grief –
I found a poem
and in its stanzas
the baby is speaking
to their mama
about having already
learned their lessons
in love and life
and because their mama
loved them oh so much,
they didn't have to
stay.
In my grief –
I wonder if that's why
you had to go away.
In my grief –
I wonder if I had
loved you a little
less,
wanted you a little
less,
you'd still be here with
me.
In my grief –
I cry
and try to bargain.
In my grief –
I hope you know,
my baby,
just how much
you are loved.
