I love myself

                          I love myself –
                          because at one time
                          I didn't.
                          

                          couldn't.
                          

                          I love myself –
                          because at one time
                          I couldn't bring myself
                          to look in the mirror.
                          

                          I love myself –
                          because at one time
                          I couldn't go out in 
                          public without caking 
                          on foundation.
                          

                          I love myself – 
                          because at on one several times
                          I let broken men
                          break me
                          and tell me 
                          I was unlovable.
                          

                          I love myself –
                          because I may
                          be "hard" to love
                          "hard" to handle
                          but I am not unlovable.
