The couple of days they had left with Lance was filled with laughing training and sadness. They were all trying to have as much time with Lance as possible, because, well he will be gone soon.
Keith could see the happiness on Lances face every time they laughed at his joke, complemented him or really anything that was kind. He lay down on his bed thinking why? Keith had never seen him so happy his smile had just seemed different, more genuine. He finally decided to go train even though it was about midnight Earth time.
Walking past each room he could see Pidge still trying to find a way to evacuate the planets, now in only one morning. Hunk looking at recipes trying to think of Lances favourite breakfast. Allura just pacing back and forth. And Coran, he just sat on his bed looking blankly at the floor, he regretted even thinking it was a great plan, they all did.
Keith looked into Lances room to find it empty, again. He smiled as he finished walking to the training deck.

As he reached the room he could hear clashed of sword on sword. Going into a run he closed the gap.
"Hey Lance!" He called.

"End training sequence" Lance turned to face Keith with his wide smile gleaming of his face. "How's it hanging?" The practice sword Lance was using lay against his thigh.

Keith just smiled as he walked up to Lance. Taking out his bayard "Start training sequence level....what level are you on Lance?"

Lances face gleamed. "Level twenty"

"Well then, start training sequence level twenty" the first robot fell down from the roof landing on its feet. It's body fell over like a rag doll's. The light on it's face began to glow as it's body straightened into a fighting position. It's spear facing in between Keith and Lance.
Two more fell next to it. Activating as they lifted up there own weapons. A sword and a mace.

"Ready mullet head" Lance smiled at Keith.

"Always."

The middle robot charged forward, picking Keith as it's target. It didn't make it a metre close before it got shot down by Lance. "Come on Mullet, do I have to shoot down all of them for you." Lance gave him his signature cheeky smile.

"You only took down one, Lance" Keith replied rolling his eyes, then smiling at Lance, having a bit a a laugh.

"Still more then you, Mullet" Lances went almost demonic "and I bet I could take down more then you"

Keith laughed "You wish"

"Then let's make a bet, who ever defeats the most has to..." Lance thought for a while "tell Allura she's wrong"

Keith's heart sank "About what?"

Lance just smiled "It has to be completely out of context"

Keith let out a sigh. "You got it, Lance"

They each took one hand from their weapons to shake hands. "Deal" they both said.
Once they got back into their ready position, the two robots that were left sprinted forward ready to impale either one of them.

"Forty-six" Lance said as they sat down having a drink.

"Forty-seven" Keith gave Lance a smug smile. "I win"

The training had gone amazingly. They had managed to get to level fifty no problem. Only deciding it was time to stop when Pidge came in yelling at them to be quiet.

"How!" Lance spat "I even had a head start!"

Keith just laughed. "About ninety percent were because you didn't have your guard up"

Lance just looked down mumbling something.

"Pardon?"

"Nothing"

"Anyway, wanna go get some breakfast, we've been training for nearly 5 Varga's"

Lance nodded in agreement. The fun, loving attitude was gone. He suddenly seemed so serious as they walked to the dining room.

Keith looked over to Lance, He wasn't joking around, barely even talking. The trip had gotten very awkward very quickly. Keith sighed, there is only one way to break the ice. "How's it going, Lance?" That was stupid. I already new how he was doing. Keith wanted to bang his head on a wall until...

"Hehe" Lance started to laugh. "That is the most awkward 'How's it going?' I have ever heard" He continued to laugh.

Keith couldn't help but smile, Lance does that to you. He laughed along with Lance as the conversation started up again, this time telling stories of either awkward things they've done or awkward scenarios they've been in. Either way. All the way to the dining room laughter. It made Keith think. What was that sudden laps of sadness.

"Thanks Keith, I needed that"

Keith let it go. It can't be that important, because you know what, Lance is amazing!"No problem" The happiness that had filled Keith left him as he realised he wouldn't of discovered how great Lance was if he hadn't agreed to the plan. The fact that Lance was leaving them at noon today.

"Something wrong?" Hunk asked.

Keith hadn't even realised they'd made it to there destination. "I'm fine, just having a hard time believing he'll really be gone soon".

Hunk gave him a hug "I know, that's why we need to enjoy these last couple of varga's with him" Hunk gave Keith a reassuring smile. "Anyway you need to eat, we all know how long you two," he pointed to Keith then to Lance "have been training for" he nugged Keith, "how was it?" Hunk gave Keith a suggestive look, making Keith go red.

"It didn't..... we didn't....... arhhhh" Keith stormed off to sit down at the table. He sighed before looking at what Hunk had managed to cook up. Pancakes. Keith smiled, none of them have had pancakes since before the Garrison, the school doesn't really allow you to see your family for summer break, and Keith can't cook. He looked over to Lance, who Keith had sat next too. Keith had never seen him happier. In fact the whole team was the happiest since the call from Lotor.
Everyone was having some kind of conversation with another, laughing and joking, and the best part was that Lance was involved in it all. Keith smiled, this is what he wants to remember, not the sad look Lance showed in the corridor.
Continuing to smile Keith lifted his head to the ceiling thinking why can't everyday be like this? Lance must of thought he was falling asleep because he pushed Keith off the chair. "Hey!"

"Don't fall asleep!" Was his reply.

"I was thinking idiot!"

Lance just laughed "And why would you be thinking at a time like this?" The sentence could of been seen in many ways, but Keith chose to take it in the more fun way.

"You saying I can't think?"

Lances face shone "I wasn't saying that, but I guess that's true as well!"

The whole team started laughing, even Keith. Things just seemed to normal, so right. But the whole emotional aura changed with just a few words. "It's time"
