My heart took one more beat then stopped for the tense moment as I leaned forward and began gently moving my fingers back and forth on her sole. For the first five seconds nothing transpired, it seemed not even her bodily instincts could override the infatuating nature of the book. Suddenly her foot twitched back before relaxing back into place. Despite the sudden stir of movement I kept going. Soon she began wriggling slightly more trying to stop herself from showing any signs of acknowledgement. At this point I was sure she knew what was going on so I pushed my inhibitions aside and became faster with longer, stroking motions. Yuri kept her foot reasonably still her middle toe spastic tensing this way and that.

Her face told the whole story. Her left eye was twitching while the other tried and failed miserably to concentrate on the book. Her mouth was close to laughter but she was trying as hard as ever to force her teeth into a noise blocking position. As I began to move my hand faster and faster across Yuri's sole she still tried to concentrate on her book. Eventually the book fell away from Yuri's hands as she began to laugh. She smiled like so many other times I had seen her happy and giggled in the sweet and quiet way that was ever so rare.

As it happened Yuri eventually lost her sock which seemed to intensify her giggles into actual laughs, something I had never seen from her. Despite the feel of her softened undersides which were of no objection to me Yuri seemed to be gathering a high from me. She looked to be enjoying it, something of which I had not anticipated for nor prepared for which frankly perturbed me a fair amount. For that reason primarily and that a fascinating amount of time had past I decided to stop.

As I removed my hands Yuri kept laughing until she regained full control of herself, after around a minute. As she did she gave me one good look, still smiling with a starstruck, happy and dazed expression before disappearing, into her room. Suddenly it struck me how out of character Yuri had been today. With things as major able to transpire without objection she seemed quite different, like I had loosened her up a little. Which all things considered is not necessarily bad.

With Yuri showing no sign of return and the temperature dropping as the time became later and later I brought it upon myself to find something other than reading to do. I had a board game upstairs in my bag which I retrieved as well as a pack of cards. In the process of wrestling the stubborn objects from my bag, another thing in the corner of my vision caught my eye. The present Yuri had left for me on my bedside table, still wrapped with its immaculate red bow and encased in the reflective, gently patterned silver wrapping, a stereotypical present box.

Desperately craving stimulation and my host nowhere in sight I tugged on the bow allowing it to flutter apart before unboxing the actual gift. As I reached into the present I pulled out a highly lavish box of chocolates, there were only six in the packet but the cost of such a brand alone would have been thirty dollars minimum. Or thirty-six dollars exactly for a six-pack of handcrafted Danish chocolates. Made my usual Cadbury treat seem bar of mud in comparison.

Even though I was sure Yuri needed to attend to something as had not surfaced in over ten minutes I really needed to thank her for something so thoughtful, not to mention expensive. I checked the bathroom, the door anyway, the study, still locked, before finally checking her bedroom. I pressed my ear up against the door and heard a long moan followed by several sharp breaths accompanied by the sound of a gentle rubbing, or cutting.

-Yuri wouldn't mas- Of course she wouldn't, she's too pure. Not with me here anyway.

Instead of peeking inside for fear of what I might see I softly called her name from the other side of the door. This was followed by a silence, opening and shutting of drawers and finally Yuri opening her door, red in the face and eyes wide.

-She wouldn't, would she?

"Yuri I just wanted to thank you for the chocolates, I know these are really expensive and this was a very expensive gift so thank you." the thanks sounded rehearsed and was belted out with little to no inflection by me, still I was glad I said something. Now it seemed whatever she had done had returned her to her calm, attentive and apologetic state, instead of giggling she just blushed. "Its-it's alright Alex, I-I'm just glad you like them." with that she proceeded to follow me down the hallway my arms laden with board games, cards, and chocolates.

-Handmade Danish chocolates.

As we collected ourselves at the kitchen table Yuri gathered her sock and re-equipped it, blushing so bright I was surprised she hadn't fainted from the sudden rush of blood. I didn't really know if Yuri wanted to play anything but I decided if she could watch television then a board game was not too much of a far stretch. "Yuri would you be interested in playing anything with me" as I said this Yuri looked up still tugging on the elastic tops of her socks to cover as much leg area as possible. "What do you mean?" was my only response in a tone that was both timid and inquisitive.

I actually had two games inside the box but one was scrabble and the other monopoly. Foreseeing the future where if I picked scrabble Yuri would wipe the floor with me. In light of this I decided on the latter as it mainly relied on luck rather than skill, two things however that I was in short supply of. "Monopoly," I said clearly, she had surely heard of it. "What?" was my only response. Yuri rivalled anyone I had ever met in school and intelligence yet I was starting to think she didn't have a very good childhood if she didn't know what a board game was.

After the long-winded explanation you gave to Yuri of what a board game and Monopoly is (which I'm sure I can save you from) I asked her verdict for whether she wanted to play. She took longer than deciding on the television taking several seconds to graciously ponder her desision. "I think I might. I think I might try" said Yuri. Good. I began to lay out the board, painstaking divide out the money and put our pieces in place, and with me mastering a car and Yuri a boat we began the game.
