Bringing a Fiery Heart to Warm a Cold One

Y/N POV

I woke up to the bright sun shining in my face and someone holding me tightly, but just loose enough to where I can breathe. I slowly move my head to look at the person and I see it is Yang. She looked so peaceful, yet protective at the same time. I look around more and I see a glimpse of red movement before I hear the sound of fake snoring.

"Ruby, I know you're awake," I whispered. She didn't go fast enough and was obviously faking the snore. Shortly after, I hear the slight stirring of Yang.

"Y/N? You're up already?" Yang asked me before hugging me tighter.

"Yeah I am. Can you let me breathe," I say as the air was being sucked out of me by this dragon.

"Whoops. Sorry," Yang said as innocently as she could.

"Now can you get off me please?" I ask her. Earning a hurt look from her.

"I will, but your not getting out of my sight," Yang said with a protective tone before getting up.

I sigh before heading to the shower. I grabbed some clothes and secretly some razors and hid them well. Well, I hoped I did. Until a red blur sped behind me and grabbed them. Well, there goes my plan.

Ruby's POV

Me and Yang were watching Y/N get ready for a shower. He got his clothes and something else. I was going to pay it no mind until I saw a tiny glint from it.  I used my semblance to grab it and stopped before I crashed into the wall. Taking a good look at it, I turn to him with a disappointed face and hold it in front of Yang and him.

"Explain this," I said with a disapproving tone and waving it.

"I was gonna change the blades on my razor so they stay sharp?" Y/N responded in an unsure tone, making me think otherwise.

"Liar," was the next thing heard and we both looked at my sister, "You have to be strong Y/N. For all of us. We care so much about you. We don't want to see you fall because of a broken heart. Don't give up. We love you. I love you."

Y/N just stood there looking blank until he processed everything she said. His eyes widened at the last three words. His mouth becoming agape as he looked at Yang.

"You do?" was all that was muttered out of his mouth before turning between me and Yang.

"Yes. I love you Y/N. I wish I could've confessed under better circumstances, but I don't want you to main yourself because of Weiss!" Yang hissed, careful not to wake the others. Sadly, she woke one person up.

"What's all the commotion going on? Y/N, please tell me what they're saying isn't true about those razor blades?" said a voice, revealed to be Saph when we all turned to the voice.

"I-I just need a way to release the pain," Y/N said before he was brought into a hug by Saph.

"Please Y/N, our team doesn't know what they'd do without you. You're a very important part of this squad. I mean, imagine all the times you helped us. In school, in getting together," Saph takes a glance at me and I smiled, "and in battle. You did that. You have a heart of gold and you don't deserve Weiss. Weiss was foolish to hook up with another man behind your back. She's made her choice and now it's time for you to make your's. Are you gonna sit here and wallow and try and main yourself. Or are you gonna grow up, move on and stand up. Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you want to be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain't you! You're better than that!" Sapphire finished with a small warm smile to Y/N, who looked as though he could burst into a fit of happy cheers.

"Damn. Did you also see that movie?" Yang asked while Sapphire gave a smirk.

"Yes I did. Anyways, Y/N go take a shower. You need to freshen up. As for you Ruby, I'm hurt. You didn't wake me up when you woke up," Sapphire turned to me with fake hurt before I pouted.

"You needed to sleep. You were passing out left and right before last night," I said to myself.
