A Trading of Hearts: Cold becomes Warm, and Warm becomes Cold Vol. 1

The Vytal Festival Tournament

Y/N POV

The tournament had finally started for the Vytal Festival. We were all in the arena stands watching Team RWBY fight off Team ABRN. Blake was just fighting Reese Chloris. Parrying her attacks as Reese continued her onslaught of attacks until she fell flat on her hind side. Prompting an opening for Blake to attack.

Yang, on the other hand, was fighting off Arslan Altan. The match seemed to be even until Arslan had got a hold of Yang's foot with her rope dart and taken the advantage. Knocking her into the ice area at the same time and continuing her assault.  I'll admit, I got a bit worried about Yang, but knowing her team, it wore away quickly.

Ruby and Weiss were fighting against Bolin Hori. After Ruby had basically shot ice dust at Nadir's feet. Bolin had dodged past the two huntresses and broke a piece of fire dust from the stage and tossed it to Reese who freed Nadir. Soon going back to fighting Blake. Who manages to escape and create a trap. Which seemed pretty obvious might I add. She approached and attacked the decoy which resulted in a ringout and low aura.

Weiss and Ruby were left to fighting Bolin and Nadir. Weiss had used ice dust and her semblance to incapacitate the to males of the team and proceeded to roll them out the arena. Which worked until Arslan jumped in and broke them out. Which cost them the match since she was distracted. Team RWBY then proceeded to knock the rest out. Weiss creating an ice ramp for Yang to use.

Yang immediately caught on and rode onto the ramp quickly gaining speed with her gauntlets and more from Blake's Gambol Shroud whip. And soon enough Team ABRN was defeated.

Outside the arena, we all saw Team RWBY sitting at a humble ramen stand after their successful victory. We, along with Team JNPR, walked up to them with bright smiles.

"Hey guys!" Sapphire called out. Smiling brightly which faded away quickly once we heard Weiss.

"What? But I'm barely into my monthly allowance!" Weiss exclaims angrily.

"Allow me to pay," Pyrrha offers.

"Thanks, but you don't have to," Weiss replies.

"But she could!" Blake states almost immediately. A small dribble of drool on her face as she glanced back to the fish ramen that was taken from her.

I chuckle as I watched them. Then I took my spot behind Yang and wrapped my arms around her waist. "You did well babe, but there was an outlying flaw in the other team. I hope you noticed," I say resting my head on her shoulder.

"What you mean the two males holding them back?" Yang replies.

I nod softly. "As well as the fact they seemed to be working on their own. Yes they had helped out their team members, but it seemed to look as though it were for their own gain. In other words, they failed to truly work together to counter your attacks."

"Since when did you become the strategist?" Sapphire asks amused.

"Well someone had to pick it up when sparring you," I shot back.

"Didn't know I had such an impact. Glad to know I'll have a second who can notice flaws in my plans."

"How do you think I last so long against you when we spar?"

"Good point," Sapphire says as everyone else chuckles at our interactions.

"Will Team JNPR and Team BRNZ enter the arena? Team JNPR and Team BRNZ please enter the arena," we heard Prof. Port announce.

"Well there's our call. We'll see you guys afterwards," Jaune says as he and the rest of his team get up and head to the arena.

Soon, we all were in the stands about to watch the fight between JNPR and BRNZ. All of us, especially Sapphire were paying attention to what each member in BRNZ had. Brawnz Ni had claws, Roy had saws, Nolan had a cattle prod, and May had a sniper rifle. Soon, the battle had started with Team JNPR and Team BRNZ minus May charged each other.

Pyrrha blocked an initial hit from Brawnz as they exchanged blow for blow. May could be subtly seen leaping up a tree and taking position in the thick leaves of the forest area. Soon after shooting at Ren. Only to miss and hit a boulder that was behind him.

Jaune, quickly seeing this, ordered his team to make a full on retreat. Quickly getting into cover to rediscuss their plan. Though cut short when Brawnz, Roy, and Nolan quickly closed the gap. The next thing that all of us see is Team JNPR dispersing to handle each team member. Nolan had gotten Ren who got stunned for a bit before Nora ran in and got hit. Which allowed her to use her semblance to shoot Nolan into a boulder.

Afterwards, a thundercloud is seen forming at the top of the mountain area. To which Nora quickly makes her way to after Jaune orders her to. May can then be seen aiming towards Nora after firing at Ren who had just captured her teammate. Prompting Jaune to get Pyrrha launched into the air to block the bullet in time.

Next thing I saw was a giant heart cloud firing towards the forest area where May was. Causing a giant cloud of dust and dirt to form. Soon, it cleared out revealing the entire middle portion burnt down.

"Man. Tough love," I say earning a slight giggle from Yang. Then in the next few moments, we see Nora blast Team BRNZ into the forest area with a mighty smash from her hammer. Jaune then orders the team to do something which results in a small huddle. All of it ending in Nora smashing Team BRNZ to the force field.
