Used and Abused

Chapter 3

  "Excuse me miss... miss... our flight has landed." The flight attendant taps on my shoulder waking me from my nightmare.

  "Hmm...oh yea..already?" I must of slept the whole way here.

  "Yes mam, we are all departing the plane now." She smiles at me as I stand up and stretch my arms.

  After I grab my luggage I call for a taxi to take me to my hotel. As soon as I arrive to my hotel I roll my eyes because the picture of the hotel, appeared more presentable than what was in front of me. I guess that's what I get for searching cheap hotels on Google.

  Once I get inside my room I unpack my clothes and iron my interview outfit as well. I am surprised that I'm not as nervous as I thought I would be. I worked so hard for my Master's degree in early childhood education, but finding a job in the field, in Fresno is unrealistic. I tried for years only to obtain a job at a fast food restaurant that paid three times more than the preschool I worked at before there.

  After my shower, I grab the ice tub and head out to the elevator. I decide to take the the stairs on my way back to my room only to be knocked over by some jerk. "Watch where your going!" A seriously handsome jerk......I notice once I look into his caramel brown eyes. Wow!

  "Excuse me miss... I am so sorry. I can go back and get you some more ice." He says with an apologetic smile.

  "No..No.. it's fine really. I really like the fresh air." I reply in a softer tone.

  "Well let me at least go with you to insure your safety."

  "And how do I know that I am safe with you? You nearly pushed me down the stairs." I respond sarcastically.

  "Okay, you win miss, but I can assure you that I'm not some psycho." He responds and smiles.

  Wow such an amazing smile he reminds me of a mixture of Kellan Lutz and Ryan Philippe. Dimples like Kellan and eyes like Ryan with the dirty blonde hair and a little sexy from both men to create this masterpiece in front of me....

  "Miss, I'm sorry I was only joking." He snaps me out of my trance.

  "Hmm.... I'm sorry I thought I saw something." I flush from my embarrassment.

  "Are you sure you don't want me to come. If you saw something... I mean I would hate for anything to happen to you."

  "Well if your going to twist my arm, I guess it wouldn't be a problem." I try to hide my attraction as best as I can. It's been a long time since I have been with a man so I'm surprised by how he is making me so giddy.

  "So are you from around here or are you visiting?" He asks.

  "Well, this is my first time ever leaving Fresno, California and after tomorrow I hope to be making this place my new home." I respond.

  "California huh, why would you want to leave the dream state?"

Is he serious? "Well let's just say that I couldn't accomplish my dreams there and after twenty-three years of living there it no longer is a dream." I respond truthfully.

  "Oh I get your point." He says with a slight chuckle.

  "Well, this is me and thank you for walking me I'm sure your wife is worried about you." I say while opening my door.

  "Mhmm... sorry miss it was my pleasure and I do not have a wife... or girlfriend at that."

  "Oh I'm sorry I assumed because...um well I just assumed." Yeah right like I'm going to say I assumed because your so Fucking gorgeous. I mentally laugh at myself.

  "No it's no problem, but I should get going I'm next door so if you need anything or who knows we might run into each other again sometime."

  "Oh yea sure good night." Yeah right like fate will be on my side to bring this perfect man into my life again. Unless he has some dirt underneath that charming skin.

  "Good night... I'm sorry I didn't catch your name." He covers his face in embarrassment.

  "Oh, it's Alexis, Lexy for short. I didn't catch yours either. Apparently I lost my manners with my fall." Are you serious Lexy just cause your not in Fresno doesn't mean your jokes are not lame still.

  "It's Kris with a K." He smiles once more.

  If he doesn't stop smiling I might just have to rape him and that would be complicated by how toned he looks.

"Well goodnight Kris with a K and thank you."

  "It was the least I could do and goodnight to you too!"

I close my door and slide down till I'm sitting on the floor. Wow he was amazing looking, but I'm here for a purpose and who knows if I will ever see him again. I climb into bed and fall fast asleep with images of this beautiful man.
