Elvis: Finally

I woke up the next morning with an ache in my neck. The sunlight was beaming through my window and I was dripping in sweat. I ran my fingers through my hair and pushed it back as I got up to stretch my back. I smacked my lips and walked towards the bathroom to take a cold shower. I heard my mother rummaging through the kitchen and decided to check in with her before showering. She had her reading glasses on and she was reading the newspaper. Daddy was sitting at the kitchen cooking breakfast. Surprised, I rubbed my eyes to no affect. Then I pinched myself. Nothing. " Mama?" I asked. She looked up from the newspaper and her face brightened at the sight of me. " What's going on?" I pointed at her and Daddy chuckled and said " Son, I know'd that you would forget that it was our anniversary." I furrowed my brows and tried to remember when their anniversary was. " Not our wedding anniversary." Mama pointed out. " The anniversary of when we first saw each other. " I shook my head and sat down. " I don't get ya'll." and my Mama and Daddy laughed first winking at each other, then me.

As I finished showering Daddy set the table and gave me the most burnt eggs, and bacon I ever laid eyes on. I'm not even sure the bacon looked like bacon anymore. " Daddy, I do like my eggs burnt but not like this." I said. Daddy blushed when Mama jumped in to defend him. " Baby, your daddy never learned to cook so cut him some slack." They both smiled at each other and began eating when I mumbled " You guys make me retch."

I ate quickly and walked to get my books and kissed Mama on the forehead and waved Daddy goodbye. I opened the door feeling really good and I inhaled the fresh air. Daddy's cooking made the house stink of burnt food. I chuckled and shook my head making my way down the stairs. As I was passing June's house, I saw a someone climbing out of her window. Afraid somebody was robbing her I quietly walked toward him. Then I saw June's head popping out the window and they talked and he kissed her before running in my direction. He stopped to wave at her window and turned around to face me.It was Aaron. He gave me a quick smirk before walking about his way.

There were 2 ways I could handle this. One, I could let him walk away and let him drag me through the dirt and take my woman and break the fuck out of my heart, or, I could run and turn him around before punching his face and continue punching him on the ground, and make myself look like the bad guy, while he takes my woman and break the fuck out of my heart. Rage and contempt made me choose the second option and I ran toward him with blinding fury and turned him around and punched his face. No time to defend himself, he groaned in pain as he landed on the dirt ground. Not finished yet, I continued to punch his face on the ground. I stopped and took his collar in my hands and lifted him off the ground. " What do you want with June?" I growled. He wiped his mouth and chuckled "What's it to you, jerk?" I punched him again and again until I heard footsteps running our way.

June caught my hand and I saw tears gushing from her eyes. " Stop this right fucking now Elvis!" She sobbed. " What was he doing in your room?" I yelled at her. She didn't respond and cried some more. Still angered and filled with hurt I got off him and walked slowly towards her. " What. Was. He. Doing. In. Your. Room?" I growled, towering over her. As much as her tears hurt me, my rage had so consumed me, making me blind to her pain. "Nothing. Really, it was nothing." She pleaded. She took my arm when I shoved her back. " Liar!" I snarled. I spat on the ground beside her and walked away while she called me back. I wasn't gonna go back, not because I was angry but because I didn't want her or that loser to see my tears. Pain overwhelmed my soul and there was darkness in my heart. I held my breath from sobbing, running to the park. I stopped by a tree and punched it in frustration, yelling in pain until I had no energy left. I sat and waited till dark but had no intention of going home. Instead I went to the nearest bar.

I sat by myself and ordered a drink. A woman about 10 years older than myself caught my eye. Not that she was pretty, she was just acting like she needed a man. She was on another mans lap, while he was sucking on her neck, she was watching me. I wiped my nose and fixed my hair. I watched as she got off his lap and walked towards me. I took a drink as she sat beside me. I stared straight ahead as she ordered a drink. " Any sort of hard liquor." She hissed. She then turned to me. " What is a little boy like yourself-" she stopped to burp and hit her finger on my chest, " doing in a grown up place like this?" She smiled to reveal a set of yellow teeth. " Nothing." I mumbled. She giggled a sickly giggle and said " How's about an older woman like me, show you a good time?" She whispered in my ear as she grabbed my thigh. If it was the lust or the beer, I didn't know as I let her take my hand.
