Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day

I am awakened by Delvin burying his boot into my ribs once more. I groan and sit up, rubbing my eyes.
Why is he waking me up so early?
"Up you dog." He spits. He says it with so much hate that it makes me wonder why he hates werewolves so much. In fact, all vampires hate werewolves.
I wearily stand up, my body aches in protest as I find my balance. I had been living in this cell for weeks, maybe even months, I don't know. And in that time period, I have lost a lot of weight. I was once fit and in shape from pack training, but now my body has atrophied.
I am nothing more than skin and bones wearing rags.
Stress and lack of food has been the reason for my rapid weight loss. The silver collar that is tightly fastened around my neck stops my rapid wolf healing, leaving me nothing more than a human.
The bruises, wounds, and scars now paint my body like I am a canvas. Delvin and other vampires made sure to punish me for my wrong doings. I was confused on what exactly I had been doing wrong, because all I do is sit in a cell and sleep all day.
But vampires are cruel and sadistic beings, am I really that surprised?
I am backhanded across my face. "I told you to walk, damn it!" Delvin yells.
I must have been lost in my thoughts.
I cower away from him, hoping my non-threatening act convinces him.
Delvin rolls his eyes and walks out of the cell, signalling me to follow. He leads me down the hallways, and I notice that the once empty cells were now filled with beings.
Humans and werewolves alike are crammed into the cages. Some are naked, others are wearing similar plain, ripped T-shirts like me.
All are female, I wouldn't see any males on this side, I have learned. They keep the male prisoners on the other side of the building.
I notice that werewolves and humans alike are chained against the walls. Some are shivering and crying, others are just rocking themselves in the corners. While some, just sit there. No life in their eyes. And I knew those ones had already been broken.
I felt scared on what was to become of me, and I bite my lip to stop myself from crying as my mind drifts to my family that was slaughtered in front of me.
"In here." Delvin's cruel voice interrupts my thoughts once more.
I cautiously follow him into a white room. A different man in a white coat stands in the center of the white room. The man, I am assuming a doctor, wears small, circular glasses. His hair is black, like most vampires, and his eyes are a beady purple.
I wonder what happened to the other doctor.
"I'm Doctor Preagon, here to look over the animal." The doctor announces. Delvin nods his head, and steps out. The door locks in place as I am left alone with a strange man.
He kicks a small square scale over to me, and I look down at it hesitantly.
"Step on." The doctor says in a rather bored tone.
I step on, the scale saying 90 pounds.
The doctor writes it down on a clipboard and raises an eyebrow. There's a height measurement on the wall, and he leads me to it. I press my back against the wall, and he measures my height.
He raises an eyebrow again.
"You're exactly 5 foot. How old are you?" He questions.
"Twelve." I reply. I wasn't done growing yet, heck, puberty hasn't really even started yet for me. I had a lot of growing time still. But even at five foot, 90 pounds, I knew that that was not a healthy weight.
