The clouds hide the sun, casting a dim light on the earth. I feel the gentle breeze flow though my fur as I start inhaling uneven breaths. I had not expected to survive, and I wearily try to lift my head to examine the carnage around me. I yelp in pain though, any movement seemed to aggravate the arrow currently sticking out of my ribs.

I eye the bodies around me, many, countless werewolves and vampires are scattered across the vast field of wispy, dry grass. There was definitely more wolf casualties, and I feel the pain in my chest rise from the devastating loss.

My ears perk up to loud, heavy footsteps, and I start to tremble as a pure blood approaches me. I whimper, afraid what he might do to me.

Darkness and evil lurks in his eyes, making me want to cower away in fear.

"Shut up you mutt." He growls, sending a sharp kick to my ribs.

He suddenly rips the arrow out of me, laughing at the pain he's caused me. He rolls me over on my back, and presses his foot into my chest.

"Looks like my little arrow did the trick. You were just about to kill the King, and so I shot you with a silver arrow." He snickers.

Why hasn't he killed me?

I growl at him, becoming irritated, and snap at his foot. He pulls his foot away quickly, and kicks me hard in my snout.

"You stupid dog." He growls out, grabbing my by my neck and lifting me off the ground as if I weigh nothing.

"You belong to us now, and if you don't behave, we will make your life hell." He says angrily. He throws me to the ground, and pins me down. "I think it's time for your lesson. This is to make sure you don't escape or kill somebody later." He says as he takes my leg in his hand, quickly breaking it.

I yelp several times in pain, it burns and it feels nearly unbearable. More tears spring from my eyes as I cry out in agony.

And he knows that it won't heal because of the silver still running through my bloodstream.

"Shift." He commands.

But, I refuse, knowing I will be naked and weaker in my human form. Not only that, but if a wolf shifts while a bone is broken, it causes immense pain.

I whine at him.

"Damn it, shift now, dog!" He scowls, pressing his thumbs into my throat. "You don't want to see what I'm capable of!"

I gulp, becoming more scared by the second. My body is shaking, and I feel on the verge of a breakdown. I still hadn't quite processed that my dad is dead, along with my friends, and my mom.....I don't even want to think about it.

I look up into the piercing red eyes of my captor, and decide, that I want to die. I would rather die than be taken and beaten for the rest of my life. So, I don't shift. Rather, I just look away from him and refuse. Maybe my disobedience alone will be enough to send a violent vampire like him over the edge.

Then he laughs.

He just laughs!

"Oh, I see. You want to take the easy way out. Your kind doesn't get it that easy." He says, as he pulls a syringe from his back pocket. "You see, I figured my prize would pull a stunt like this, so before you woke up, I grabbed this."
