A New Day.

It was the next day. Me and Ellie ended up sleeping right next to each other on my bed? 'When the hell did we get moved up here?' I looked around at my room then ended up looking next to me where Ellie was sound asleep. I smiled then heard a knock at my door
"Come in." I didn't want to yell too loudly. I didn't want to wake Ellie beside me but i ended up failing miserably. As Ellie shifted around and rubbed her eyes we both seen Marlene standing on my door frame looking at the both of us. "It's time you two.. I'm giving you 30 minutes to grab what you need and meet me outside the headquarters." She turned around and walked away. "Well so much for saying good morning or hello. I love Marlene but she's so bossy and it's so damn annoying." I started to stretch and pop my back to loosen the tension on my bones until I heard a giggle. I slowly turn to my side to see a smirking Ellie with something in her hands. "(Y/n) I never expected you to be a romance type." My face flushed when i saw what she was holding in her hand. My book that had some dirty quotes in it. I snatched it out of her hand and turned away, my face blood shot red of embarrassment. "W-well you obviously don't know me well enough then. I have more to my side then just being bitchy all day!" She continued to laugh and get out of bed to get dressed. " I know. I'm just fucking with you." She turned to look at me while she was putting on a different shirt and pants. But only to be surprised when she seen my head turned away from her. 'Why am I getting so nervous?. We're both girls it's only natural for us to change in front of each other' my head was still turned away until I decided to get up to grab my newly set of clothes to change in the bathroom. I grab my (f/c) long sleeve shirt and (f/c) pants and slip them on knowing that I was going to be Stuck with this same outfit through the entire trip. I fix my (h/l) (h/c) hair in order to make it a little decent. I then heard the slightest knock outside the bathroom door. "(Y/n)! Come on it's time to go." I open the door to see a newly dressed Ellie with a backpack on. "Alright.. yeah. Let's go." I walk out the bathroom and grab my gun before walking out side by side with Ellie.

Everything was fine one minute.. then the next it went to shit. The military found us and destroyed everything Marlene took me and Ellie into a building and told us to wait for her to get back. "Ellie are you okay?" I looked at her with a worried expression and grabbed her hand. She squeezed in response. "Not really..it just happened so fast." She turned to look at me and gave a weak fake smile. "It's okay. Marlene is one tough son of a bitch. She'll come back." I rubbed her back to sooth her and it seemed to be helping , I saw her start to close her eyes and sigh.

I shook Ellie to wake her up.. someone was trying to open the door.. "ellie..Ellie wake up." She opened her eyes and yawned but soon her eyes were wide open when she saw the door being unlocked. She hopped up quickly but quietly and went behind the door as she pulled out her knife..at that moment the door finally opened..
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?!" Ellie went to jump at the intruder but only to be stopped by Marlene. "H-holy shit ! Are you okay? Who the fuck is this?" Ellie and I both jumped up and started asking a million questions. But Marlene seemed to be too hurt to answer any. I mean hell a gun shot wound in your gut? I don't blame her for not answering. "I-im fine don't worry about me...This is joel the brother of our friend Tommy that I told you about. And his friend tess." Me and Ellie both looked unimpressed as she introduced us to the people she brought in. "So why the hell are they here? We need to leave Marlene and I mean like now." She looked up at me "they are going to take you two to the capital for me. And I'll meet you there when I'm patched up...." She was starting to really look pale as she applied pressure to her wound. "Joel I'm gonna go check out those guns you can stick around and babysit." The tall girl who's name I'm guessing is tess looked at the old guy before running off. I look at Ellie and she seemed kind of angry. "Why do we have to get stuck with him!?" Ellie was shouting at Marlene who was on the edge of passing out. "Because he can protect you both... Trust me I know him well." Ellie started looking at the man when he spoke up. "You two listen here. And listen well.. do what I say,when I say it, and how I say it got me?" This seemed to piss off Ellie even more. "Hey! Fuck you man I didn't ask for this!!!" He seemed to shrug off her threat and started to walk out the door telling us to come on..
Me and Ellie followed joel outside to another hotel room that he took us to so we could wait on that tess girl to get back. As we walked in joel plopped himself down on the couch and closed his eyes. "What are you doing?" Ellie looked at the man who laid down In front of her. " killing time." Ellie looked at me then back to joel. "What are we supposed to do?" She remarked back "I'm sure you'll figure that out." Ellie sighed and walked to the table I was at and sat with me. "Well so much for that...this trip is going to be complete shit." A smile started to tug at my lips as she said that "at least I'm here.. And we do know each other pretty well so it's not going to be that boring..Ha and on the bright side they only have to take us halfway through the city to the capital building is where the fireflys are holding up." She looked at me and also smiled before nodding in agreement. "Ya know (y/n) when we get to the capital building and find a vaccine for the infection. I want us to go exploring. I know it's stupid but I've always wanted to see beautiful mountains and forests." She was daydreaming about what it would be like to go Adventuring with me around the world. "W-why me?" I asked lips parted slightly with a little bit of shock in my eyes. "That's easy.. because I feel like I have a genuine connection with you. I don't know why or how but I just do." She was cheesing ear to ear now. Something that I haven't seen when I first met her. Even if I only met her yesterday we have been talking and understanding each other for the entire day. I have to say I'm really enjoying her company... And it's a brand new day for me ...
