I walk into first hour on Friday morning.

"Hey, Cassie, you busy tonight?" Niall greets me.

"Uh, no."

"Really? That's great," he says with a smile. "I'm going to visit my grandmum in her nursing home today and I was wondering if you wanted to come. She loves when I bring friends."

"Sure," I reply with a smile. I love old people. We both take our seats and sit down and start the class.

"Listen, Cass," Zayn says in biology.

"What?" I snap.

"I'm sorry about what happened last Saturday. I really am. I've liked Kyla for some time now and I just wanted her to notice me. You being super hot and all, I definitely thought she would say something to me. It worked, but I feel really bad. I took advantage of your vulnerability and that's a douchey thing to do. I'm sorry that I just ditched you like that. It was a dick move." His brown eyes stare into mine and I can tell he's being sincere.

"All right, I forgive you." I take a deep breath. "But promise me you'll never hurt a girl to get another girl, again. That's not cool and girls aren't into that."

"I promise." He flashes an award winning smile.

Niall and I walk into the New York Elder Persons' Living Residence. He signs in at the desk and we proceed to walk down the halls.

We stop at a door that has a little sign next to it that says 'Nancy Horan.' Niall knocks and some shuffling occurs on the other side of the door.

"Who is it?" an elderly woman's voice says.

"Grandmum! It's me, Niall."

"Niall, darling! Come in, come in."

We walk into a small white room with many black and white pictures hanging on the walls. A bathroom is right across from the doorway. There are many glass dolls scattered in different places around the cozy room. I assume she collects them. There is a small chair and a large pink recliner in front of a tiny, old TV. Next to a large vanity, a bed is placed.

His grandmother walks with her walker over to the pink recliner and takes a seat, elevating her legs. Niall leans over and allows her to kiss and pinch his cheek.

"Grandmum, I'd like you to meet Cassidy," Niall introduces me with a large smile.

"Oh, what a beautiful young lady!" Grandmum Nancy exclaims. "You're perfect for Niall. Oh, boy, when's the wedding?" She gets an excited grin on her cute old face.

Niall bites his lip and blushes. I let out a small giggle.

"We're not dating," Niall finally says.

"Oh," she replies, furrowing her eyebrows. "What a shame." The old lady shakes her head in disapproval.

I smile at her straight forwardness and Niall's embarrassment. He's quite adorable when he blushes.

We sit down with Niall's grandmum for at least an hour and a half and talk about her past and her life in the nursing home.

"This place is a hellhole," she repeats. "Can you get me out of this hellhole yet?"

Niall chuckles and shakes his head. "No. Sorry, Grams. Can't let you out yet."

She turns to me. "Cassidy, you really are an amazing young lady."

"Thank you, Mrs. Nancy," I reply with a large smile.

"Niall, how did you ever manage to get a girl like her?" The elderly woman teases.

"I don't know." He laughs slightly. "But I don't technically have her." He leans next to his grandmother's ear and whispers loud enough for me to hear, "Yet."

We converse some more and Mrs. Nancy seems to think I'm some sort of angel sent from above and that Niall is just so lucky to have me. Niall looks embarrassed when she says these remarks, but I find them very funny.

"Well, Cassie and I should get going." Niall leans over and gives his grandmother a kiss on the cheek and she does the same.

I bend down to chair level to give Grandmum Nancy a handshake, but she pulls me in and gives me a hug and a kiss.

"Young love," she sighs, gazing at us.

"We're not in love, Grandmum." Niall scratches the back of his neck.

"Can it, Blondie. I've been in love for 67 years. I see the way you two look into each other's eyes. I know love when I see it."

I'm a little taken aback by her words, but my lips turn up in a large grin anyway.

"Sorry about my Grandmum," Niall says when we're seated in the car. "She can be a little straight forward sometimes."

"Oh, no. It's fine. I find her very entertaining and kind. I appreciate her always saying what's on her mind and those little things she notices," I assure him.

Niall's face turns a light shade of pink. "I'm glad you like Grandmum."
