"Hey, babe," a voice startles me. I look up from my laptop to see Niall sitting across from me at my kitchen table. He really likes using that house key mum gave him.

"Hi."

"How've you been?" He asks.

"Eh." I shrug. We haven't talked all week and now it's Saturday. Which I guess is kind of a good thing because we've been basically glued to each other since we started dating. We needed some time away from each other.

Niall gets up and pulls his chair over to me. He flips it the wrong way and sits with his arms resting on the back and his legs sticking out from either side. He reaches his hand out and lightly touches my face.

"I'm sorry," he says. "For acting the way I did. I should've never said anything. I hope you'll forgive me?"

I shake my head 'yes,' but then say, "It wasn't your fault. It was mine. I was being stupid and the words just came out of my mouth. I guess I can't handle this amount of stress. I'm sorry."

"I forgive you, Cassie." He nods towards the computer sitting on the table. "What are you doing?"

"I'm looking for a job. We need money, desperately. I've applied and applied and I haven't gotten anything." I sigh and rest my chin in my palm. I'm glad Niall and I are good now. I've missed him.

"Hey," Niall says after a few quiet moments. "Didn't you say you're dad was rich or something?"

"Niall, are you suggesting I ask my father for money?" I almost scoff at the thought.

"You're his daughter, Cassie. He's got to care about you at least a little bit," he encourages.

"That's insane. First of all, I hate the man. Second of all, he lives in Burbank, California." I poke Niall's shoulder.

"So? Just call him." Niall shrugs as if it's just an everyday thing for him.

"Call him?! I don't know his phone number! And I'm not asking for a large sum of money over the phone," I say, furrowing my eyebrows.

We stay silent for a while and Niall looks as if he's thinking really hard.

"Go to Burbank," he suddenly exclaims. "My mum's got airline points and can land us two basically free tickets. We can leave tomorrow and be back in time for prom." He grins widely.

I raise an eyebrow at him. "No," I reply blankly. "I'm not going. And I'm not asking my father for money."

Niall raises his eyebrow and mimics my look. "Fine. Be that way."
