Thirty One 》 Run

Hae Soo's POV:

I began to look through every possible thing in the room as Sicheng tried to figure out what we needed. "Babe, I figured something out." Sicheng said in a sweet tone as he walked towards me while scrolling through his phone. "What is it cutie?" I said as I smiled at him before he showed me his phone. "Okay so we need this camera and this microphone first." He explained as he showed me the pictures. "I think I saw that in this drawer over here." I said as I walked to where I thought I had seen the cameras at earlier when I had been looking around. "Sichengie, you are going to be famous." I said as I turned the camera on and began filming him. "Hae Soo, stop, we need to hurry." He said as he laughed a little. I pouted and put the camera away before looking for what we needed again.

I found the items in the pictures as he began to list off a few more things as I looked for those too, finding them quickly as I understood what I was looking for now. Everything finally seemed to be going well until the loud slam of a door down the hallway brought Sicheng and I back into reality. It reminded us that we were in fact being searched for. I had completely forgotten about the two guards looking around for Sicheng and I. I had been so distracted by how sweet Sicheng was being on me. "Hae Soo, did you hear tha-" Sicheng said before I cut him off in a whisper. "Yeah, I heard it Sichengie. We need to hurry up and get out of here now." I said as I began to shove things into my bag while walking towards the door.

I quickly grabbed the handle and began to turn it before Sicheng grabbed my hand and stopped me. I turned to him, confused as to why he had stopped me from opening the door to leave so I began to ask him. He shushed me by putting his finger to my lips before whispering. "Someone is coming." He said, making my heart sink as he grabbed my hand, pulling me away from the door handle and to the other side of the room. "Get under the desk, we need to hide." He said, pointing to the desk with the laptop in the middle of the room. Without hesitation, I crouched and got under the desk, trusting him with his idea as he followed behind me, squeezing so close to me that I could barely breathe but at the same time, it didn't upset me one bit.

I kissed him on the cheek quickly and grabbed onto his hand as the footsteps outside grew louder before the door handle to the room began to jiggle. Sicheng covered my mouth with his other hand as he noticed my panicked state. "Baby it is okay, you have to be quiet right now." He said before he dragged my face into his chest as he held onto me while the door to the room slowly opened and the person who had been outside slowly walked in. I panicked as they walked around the room, looking through things, seemingly noticing that a few things had been moved because it was pretty obvious that someone had been in there. The amount of shear panic that swelled over my body was unreal until it was soon washed over by a familiar voice, Mark Lee. "Hae Soo? Are you in here?" He said quietly.

I crawled out from under the desk and stood up as Sicheng did the same, realizing we didn't have to hide anymore. "How did you get in here?" I asked, confused as to how he made it to where we were so easily without being spotted by those two guards who were looking for us. "I know my way around this building." was all he said before picking up my bag and checking to make sure we had the right things. I decided not to ask questions and instead, I just held onto Sicheng's hand and waited for Mark to finish. "Alright, that is all we need, now we need to get out of here. Donghyuck is keeping watch outside so he will make sure it is safe before we go crawling out of a window or anything." Mark said, reassuring us.

I watched as he slowly opened the door to the room and peered outside, checking to see if anyone was out there. "Alright just follow my lead." He whispered as he pushed open the door a bit further before walking out of the room and into the hallway, trying to make as little noise as possible. We followed him down the hallway, everything going surprisingly well as we didn't see either of the guards ahead of us until we were close to the staircase. That was when one of them suddenly came into view as he exited one of the classrooms and began to lock the door back behind him. We took that as our que to hide until he went into the next classroom, then we would tip toe past him and up the stairs. We hid around that corner for what seemed like hours until he finally went into the next room, shutting the door behind him. We followed our plan as Mark lead the way, tip toeing past the guard and finally to the stairs.

I sighed in relief before I was shushed by Mark, earning a small laugh from Sicheng. We walked slowly up the stairs and into the hallway that we had been in minutes before but for some reason it seemed like years as the hallway was barely familiar to me. I guess I had just been so scared that I barely paid attention to detail. "Alright, we are gonna go to the classroom that we were in before and climb out of that window. Donghyuck is waiting for us out there. I smiled as I realized we had made it, we were almost out of this situation. That was until Mark's walkie talkie came on and Donghyuck's voice came through the little box. "Run" was all he said.

We stood there confused for a moment before we heard a man's voice coming from down the stairs. "Hey, who's up there?!"
