Chapter Twelve
Lexi’s POV
“Alright, who are we missing?” Michelle asked as she looked around the living room. She had called for a ‘family meeting’ to discuss very important matters. None of us actually knew what she wanted to talk to us about, but we could only guess that it had something to do with the family dinner we're having tomorrow.
“No one mom, we’re all here.” Michael said.
“Okay so first off, we are having a family dinner tomorrow. Girlfriends and boyfriends,” she looked at me, “are a mandatory thing. They must come and we will all get to know each other. Xavier’s bringing his girlfriend, Emilie, and Alex is bringing Tristan. Anyone else have someone they want to bring?” We looked around at each other and were surprised when Mason’s hand flew up in the air. “And who are you bringing?”
“My girlfriend.” He stated simply with a shrug of his shoulders. His eyes refused to meet anyone else's, they just stared out of the window in front of us.
“And when did this happen?” Michelle asked.
“Last night.”
“And what’s her name?” Kyle questioned.
“Paige Talon.” My mouth dropped open and my eyes went wide. “Surprised?” he asked me with a hint of amusement in his eyes. I quickly closed my mouth and looked away. Out of everyone at school Paige Talon had to be his new girlfriend. For as long as I can remember we had hated each other, and he knew that.
“Okay.” Michelle said, bring our attention back onto her. “Back on topic. I want you all on your best behavior tomorrow night. I want the entire house clean by the time y'all go to bed, is that understood?" Everyone nodded their heads yes. "You’re dismissed.” With a wave of her hand we all stood from our spots in the living room and made our way towards our rooms.
Paige Talon and Mason. My Mason is dating her? Wait, he’s not my Mason. He’s her Mason. How can he date her after everything that has happened between me and her? He knows everything, he knows how much I can’t stand her and he knows how much she can’t stand me, so why would he date her? My mind whirls around that until my phone starts to ring and I walk in my room.
“Hello.”
“Hey princess.” His voice greets me and a smile makes its way to my face.
“Hey Tris.”
“Tris, I like it.”
I could hear the smirk in his voice. “Of course you do.” I laughed. "You love nicknames, itsn't that right?"
"Can't we just forget about what was said, I really didn't mean for it to come out like that." He pleaded.
"Nope," I popped the 'p', there was no way I was going to let that happen.
“Whatever, so what are you doing today?” He asked.
“Cleaning, Michelle wants the house clean before tomorrow, apparently girlfriends and boyfriends are mandatory at family dinner.”
“Who else is coming?” he asked.
“Xavier’s girlfriend and Mason’s girlfriend, I haven’t met Xavier’s, although I have met Mason’s and lets just say you are going to have to stay close to me tomorrow night.”
“Is little Alex afraid of Mason’s girlfriend?” he teased.
“No, but I do hate her.”
“Why.” He asked.
