Chapter Fifteen

Lexi’s POV

There was darkness. It enveloped me; swallowed me whole. My eyes frantically searched for a ray of light; an escape, but there was none. My eyes played with me as many different shapes could be seen, some looked like wild dogs, others looked like revenge-seeking demons. Were they really there, I would never know, for my eyes seemed be pry themselves open as a blinding light made me cringed back and blink several times.

Many people began talking at once, running up to me and wrapping me in a hug. There was a beeping noise next to my right ear. A doctor was in front of me now, shining a light in my eyes and telling me to follow his finger as it moved back and forth in front of my face. “Everything seems fine, she will be able to leave shortly and then return to her normal schedule. She should maintain a healthy diet along with many fluids.” He looked towards me, “Try to stay away from stressful activities. If you start feeling faint or dizzy lie down and drink a bottle of water.” I nodded towards him and looked around the hospital room and notice that my right hand was engulfed by a larger one that belonged to . . . Mason.

He looked up at me with relief filled eyes and gave me a small smile. His eyes twinkled with happiness and he softly kissed my hand. My left hand was picked up and intertwined with another one. My head snapped to my left hand and followed the hand up all the way to Tristan’s face. He was smiling down at me which I happily returned before he engulfed me in a big hug and pecked my lips. “I was so worried about you. Please don’t ever do that again.” I didn’t know if he was talking about being sick and in the hospital or leaving him with a room full of Blake’s who obviously hate his guts, probably both.

There was a knock at the door before it swung open revealing a smiling Trenton Smith behind it. He carried my back pack on his back and walked swiftly to the bed. “Since you weren’t at school today, I took the liberty of getting your homework. Plus we really need to work on our theatre project.”

“Which was?” I questioned totally blanking at the sound of a project.

“The play we have to put on, you really forgot? We’re doing—“

“Oh yeah, know I remember. When is that due by the way?”

“End of the year, the whole school and parents are coming to watch our productions of whatever play we chose to put on. Which means we have to cast different roles and we have to be the leads, teacher’s orders.” I groaned but looked around the room at all the curious stares.

“I’m being released in a little bit; if you want to come over to my house we will work on it there, begin writing the script.”

“Alright, text me when you’re at your house and I’ll come straight over.”

“Okay, see you later Trent.”

He left after that, leaving a bunch of confused and curious people for me to deal with, thanks for that. “What is that?” Tristan questioned. “What are you doing with Trenton Smith?”

“We’re partners in theatre, we’re putting on a play together. It’s not a big deal, you don’t have to be jealous over it.”

“Well what play are you doing?” he asked his eyebrows scrunched and looking around the room.

“Yeah, what play are you doing Lexi?” Oliver questioned.

“That is a secret, because you are all going to be in it.” Immediately the boys began to groan.
