Life with the Blake Brothers
Chapter Twenty Nine
Lexi’s POV
“Mason, stop pouting and stand by your brothers.” I ordered, placing my hands on my hips. He stuck his tongue out at me and reluctantly stood by his brothers before sighing, very loudly.
“We’ve been practicing for two hours already Lex, let’s take a break.” Oliver whined slumping down onto the ground. Which had all the other boys doing the same.
“What do you have a hot date to get to?” I asked teasingly, not expecting the answer I received.
“Actually I do.” Oliver shot back with a triumphant smirk.
“Whatever.” I grumbled. "Just stand up and let's get back to work. The longer y'all just sit there the longer this is going to take."
We practiced the play for another hour and a half before I finally let them go. They all gave happy cheers before rushing away before I changed my mind. Oliver grumbled when he realized he only have fifteen minutes before his date with Jackie. But I reminded him that fifteen minutes was better than nothing and that he better get a move on it.
Mason stood next to me, intertwining out hands and kissing my cheek. “You sure are bossy.” He muttered as Trent moved to stand in front of us.
“Well I've got to get going.” Trenton smiled down at me moving forward and wrapping me in a brotherly hug. “Mel wants to see you again soon.” He whispered softly in my ear before releasing me and throwing a bye over his shoulder as he exited the back yard.
“Who is Mel?” Mason asked, but a knowing glint passed through his eyes making me wonder if he actually did know who she was and was just asking for the sake of asking.
“Just Oliver’s sister, she’s really adorable. You would love her.” I told him.
“Well when can I meet her?”
“Umm, I don’t know.” I stuttered, completely forgetting that Oliver didn’t want anyone to know about his sister being in the hospital. “I’ll have to ask Trenton when I see him next."
“Okay babe.” He forced a smile and pecked my lips. “I’m going inside, you coming?” he asked.
“I’ll be there in a minute.” I said taking a seat on one of the chair and sighing. I ran a hand through my hair as someone sat next to me. I placed tfhe script in front of me on the table and ran my yellow highlighter over my lines.
“What’s wrong baby girl?” Michelle asked placing motherly touch on my arm.
“I’m fine.” I assured her before we sat in a comfortable silence. She didn't try to start conversation and neither did I. We sat there for a while until she turned towards me.
“Alright, but if you ever want to tell me why you're upset. I’ll be there to listen, just remember that baby girl.” She patted my arm twice before standing up and walking back into the house, but not without one last glance back at me.
