Omg I just realized that chapter eight wasn't complete after how many months o Lord i am so sorry! Here's the actual chapter eight! Forgive me!
Here:
Every Friday we had tests. Before I met Ohma, I flunked them 70% of the time, because I didn't care. But Ohma's enthusiasm for learning was quite infectious, and soon I started studying for tests, my GPA taking a quick turn to the top. When Mr. Montgomery, our Civic Ed teacher started sharing the questions, I turned to face Ohma who was sitting a few rows behind me. She gave n an encouraging thumbs up with a cute smile, which I returned. "Okay, students, begin the test!"
I didn't know what came over me, but the moment I picked up my pen and put it on paper, all that I had read on Civic Ed flew out. Like, my mind literally went blank. I tried blinking really hard, because that helped me remember what I forgot, but... Nothing. Not even a word came to mind. I looked at Ohma with desperate eyes but she was already scribbling furiously on her answer sheet.
Something didn't feel right, and something else told me I was going to find out really, really, really soon.

"How was the test, Kimmy K?" Ohma asked me, sitting beside me on one of the benches behind the school. I was staring straight at the white-turned-grey wall that past seniors had left their signatures on before passing out. The wall was blended with different colours with horrid handwritings, but that was the beauty of the wall. I slowly turned to face Ohma with a dead face.
"I flunked." Her eyes widened.
"Didn't you read?!" I chuckled. She slapped my arm- which hurt like a bitch- but I shrugged it off.
"I did." I swear, I did. Okay, it was a last minute brush through after I woke up from my blackout last night, but I would have remembered at least half of it. "I... I forgot, I guess."
"Is something wrong?"
"I... I don't know, Ohm's law... I have this gut feeling that something bad is going to happen. It was why all I read flew out."
"Hmm." We fell silent for a while, before Ohma spoke up. "Don't ignore it." I nodded. "Maybe them KODs are going to try shit. Be careful, okay?" I nodded again. My phone beeped in my back pocket and I reached for it. It was a message from Duke. Where are you?
I typed a quick reply. At the benches. Y? The three dots danced until the message came in.
We need to talk. It's very important. I'm coming out. I sent him a thumbs up emoji which he read before going off.
"Who was that?" Her lips curled in disgust when I told her. "I better go. I'll be in the library when you're done. Bye, Key." She bit her lip and gave my hand a small squeeze, her eyes holding an expression I couldn't read, before she walked away. No sooner had Ohma had the doors did Duke burst out of them. He was panting, evident that he had been running. He doubled over, taking sharp breaths.
"Keyonna," he breathed out, "your friends... she's in danger." I shot up from the bench and folded his shirt in one hand, the other ready to strike a blow. My phone fell (thankfully the screen didn't crack) but that was the least of my worries. Ohma was more important now.
"What about her?" He didn't talk. "What about her, you stupid cunt?!
He swallowed. "There was a KOD meeting. Stephanie-" He was cut off by the speakers.
"Keyonna Brighton, please report to room 303 immediately. Keyonna Brighton, please report to room 303 immediately. Hurry, or we will find you."
