Dear world,

Life is beautiful when you open your heart to possibilities. A bend in the road is not the end of the road, unless you fail to take the curve.

Not everybody has the opportunity to learn to change. For some it's impossible. For some it's as hard as cracking a walnut with your fingers. But for some, just that step towards change, can turn your life around for good.

Don't be afraid to be judged. People will judge you no matter what. If you're blonde, they'll say you're stupid. If you're the type that loves to read and stays in the library, they'll call you a NERD, an efiko. They are the stupid ones, though. The labels they put on you is not who you are. They judge by what they see and hear, not what they know. It's what you know that will help you rise above their judgement.

Know that good things take time. If it wasn't good it wouldn't be worth the wait.

Your mistakes don't define who you are. You might have made the mistake over and over, but it's because your heart led instead of your head and it made you weak. Mistakes happen, but be smart enough not to make them again. You'll bounce back, stronger and better.

I may not be as wise as the proverbial historical king, but I do know that you have to live your life to the fullest, because at the snap of a finger, it could all end. Don't waste your time crying over spilt milk or blocking your heart from accepting truths. There's so much happiness around you, you're only looking in the wrong places. Take your time to find the truth, love and happiness, and then you'll truly see life.

Keep your friends close, and your family closer. Family stays when everyone else leaves. Family has your back for life. Reach out to them, because you may not the only one hurting.

Live your best life. Hey, be crazy. Let them laugh. Let them point. Let them stare. Society shouldn't define who you should be. It's 2018. In a couple of months we'll be shouting "Happy New Year!" But before then, make the remainder of the year memorable for you.

To all the girls and women out there, be the kind of woman others want to emulate. The type of woman that builds other women up. The type of woman who is proud of other women's success. The type of woman that is honest with other women, and doesn't spoil them behind their backs. The type of woman that knows how to keep her mouth shut when it's supposed to be shut and doesn't betray another woman's confidence. The type of woman a man would be proud of, and be confident that he has you. The type of woman that respects other women, irrespective of who they are, what they do and where they come from. The type of woman that gives love freely. The type of woman that is brave, bold and beautiful, inside and outside.

To all the boys and men, learn to love. Respect is reciprocal. Respect the person and the gender. It's bad enough that you've been thought to believe that women are the weaker gender but the moment you disrespect her, you become her equal. Don't believe the bullshit that you are made to believe. You're the man of the house doesn't mean you have to die with so many responsibilities. You're a man doesn't mean women are sex objects. It's okay to cry. And when you cry, cry openly. Let people know you're hurting. Or you will keep killing your soul. Give love and respect. Be smart, be strong and be safe.

Be original, be real, be you.

Remember that no one will like you when you do the right thing, but when they're talking about the right things, you'll be used as a reference.

Never forget no matter what happens, life goes on.
