Leonora's P.O.V.

I looked at the clock in class and sighed. Why couldn't it go faster? I had only been in here for twenty minutes but it had felt like twenty hours. Finally, after another interminable 70 minutes, the class ended, and I all but ran outside, practically throwing my report on the professor's desk. Once outside, I ran into Emilie's arms. She hadn't had any class before so she had told me she'd wait for me outside my class; I was happy she had kept her promise.

"Hi there love. How was your class?" She quickly pecked my lips, causing some stupid guys to whistle.

I rolled my eyes. "Since when does a class last a million hours instead of an hour and a half? Also, since when does your professor ask only one person questions throughout the class?"

"Since that one person is falling asleep in the class, young lady," a voice behind me said.

I paled and turned around, my professor standing right behind me with his eyebrow raised.

"I-I'm sorry sir. I didn't meant to f-fall asleep," I looked down, regretting talking right in front of the class instead of waiting to get away. Now my marks would surely go down because the professor had heard me complain.

"Don't do it again. If you do, you will get extra homework, to catch up with whatever you've missed. Have a good day." With that he left, leaving me alone with Emilie, who was glaring at me.

Once he was gone, she bent down a bit and whispered in my ear. "Next time you'll listen to me when I tell you that it's bedtime, right?" I nodded and she smiled, taking my hand and pulling me along.

We left the building and started walking home. It was a 40-minute walk but her car was broken and I didn't have one yet, as I didn't have the money for it. But it was a nice day, so the walk was okay. And it just meant spending a nice moment with Emilie. We quietly walked hand in hand, that was a new rule she had implemented not long ago, as I had run ahead and almost gotten ran over by a car I hadn't seen. Since then I always had to hold her hand whenever we were out in public. I didn't really mind though, as it made me feel kinda little in public, without actually being little. And if it made her happy, then so be it. I smiled and looked around, humming to myself. I heard Emilie chuckle at me, and when I looked at her she blew me a kiss, making me blush. This just made her chuckle more and I decided to simply ignore her and look around. Why did she have to be so mean and make me blush all the time? Did she find it funny?

We were getting closer to our home when I froze. I stared at the person on the other side of the road, not wanting to believe that she was there. What was she doing there? Why had she come back? Suddenly, I felt Emilie pulling me forward, closer to that person. Saying that I was scared was an understatement: I was terrified. I hadn't seen her in years, and we hadn't separated on a good note. Now, seeing her again, in front of the building where I lived, I was terrified as to why she was there and as to what she would do. We passed near her to get inside the building, and she just smirked at me, winking. By the time we were inside our flat, I was shaking and ready to faint.

Emilie silently led me to the couch and laid me down, saying that she'd be back quickly, she was just going to get some stuff for me. Once she was gone, I started panicking, and then everything went black.
