The Statemans Ship
Deep SpaceThor is being beat, badly. Heimdall is already down and Loki is trying to hold back Banner as long as possible. "Want fight." He argues loudly as blasts of lighting and shouts come from the other room.
"You heard my brother, you're our secret weapon. Thanos doesn't know you're here and I can keep you cloaked so that they don't know you are here. Okay?"
"Thor is loosing." The Hulk says, listening to Thor scream. Loki cringes.
"I know but I have a plan and it involves you being extra super quiet and waiting for my signal is that alright?" Hulk frowns but eventually nods and that's when Loki joins the fight, distracting Thanos lackeys from the fight between Thanos and Thor. But four against one is never a fair fight and Loki is surrounded and forced to surrender as Thor falls.
Ebony Maw steps over the bodies of the Asgardians as he makes an idiotic speech about them dying for a good cause. Thor has seen enough death to know that there is nothing good about what has happened to his people. Thanos continues to pummel him, crushing him into the metal ship while Thor barely fights back, his energy has waned and he knows that Thanos is only doing this to piss off Loki who currently stands in the middle of Thanos' children, all of their weapons trained on his back.
"You're supposed to be, the God of Thunder. I thought you would give me more of a fight." Thanos mocks as Thor spits blood out from his mouth.
"What? Are you tired already?" Thor asks, though it's a stupid question that gets him slammed back down into the metal of his crumbling ship. Thor groans as Thanos lets go of him, staring down at him pitifully.
"I know what it's like to loose everything. To want so badly to save your people." Thanos says grabbing Thor up and dragging him back to face Loki who is trying not to show any signs of wavering. He hasn't seen Thanos in almost six years. And yet just looking at him makes Loki want to curl up and die. "There is only one way to salvation, one way to save the universe from total destruction." Thor groans as Thanos' grip on his head tightens.
"You talk a lot." He manages to get out. Loki almost wants to run up and shake his brother and tell him to shut up but instead, he does nothing.
"The Tesseract. Give it to me or I crush your brothers skull." Thanos threatens. Loki remains stoic, willing to call Thanos bluff. He can't know that Loki and Thor are on good terms now right? When they had last seen each other, Loki had been trying to usurp his brother and take the throne. Thanos couldn't sense the bond they shared now could he?
"I've been trying to get rid of him for years. You'd be doing me a favor actually." Loki began, staring at Thor and hoping he would understand that he didn't feel this way anymore. "Kill him." But Loki didn't account for the fact that Thanos would use the power stone to slowly torture Thor before ending his life and after hearing his brother scream for a total of five seconds, Loki couldn't bear it any longer. "Alright stop!" He shouts. Thanos smiles and removes his gauntlet from the side of Thor's face but doesn't let go of his head.
"The Tesseract..." Thor manages to gasp out. "Burned along with Asgard. We don't have it." And Loki wishes that this statement were true but it isn't and almost as Thor says it, he senses that Loki knows something he doesn't.
"I'm sorry." Loki says lightly before raising his hand and conjuring up the Tesseract. He hadn't meant to take it but the power had called to him for some reason. He couldn't let it be destroyed with Asgard. Now Loki was beginning to realize that it might have been Thanos. He still had a grip on his mind after all these years.
