The Edge of the Barrier
Wakanda, Africa

Steve could barely think straight. He was too worried about someone getting hurt. He was too focused on trying to be everywhere at once that he was disregarding his own safety. And these were things that Shuri knew and prepared for and that's why his suit was impenetrable. Bullets bounced off of it, claws couldn't scratch it, and the only thing that could really break through the thick armor was another vibranium weapon and even then, it would have had to been thrown at a high velocity to puncture his skin.

Steve knew what his friends were capable of, what his old teammates were capable of and yet, he couldn't stand he idea of knowing they were out here and could possibly get hurt. T'Challa didn't ask for this war. He didn't want it to be on his front door step but Steve had brought it to him anyways and begged for his help. And now Shuri, Fitz, and Simmons were working tirelessly to fix the mistake of the Avengers past while everyone else fought for their lives on the outskirts of Wakanda.

"Hey little man!" Steve heard Sam shout over the Coms. "You think you can do that trick you did at the airport two years ago?" Steve slammed the blunt end of his shield down into one of the demon dogs heads before turning to face another ten on his left side.

"Uhh.. I could but it would tire me out real quick and then I'll just be dead weight. I work better when I'm bite sized." Steve had no idea where Scott was right now but some of the demon dogs not to far from him were spontaneously exploding and Steve wondered if that was Scott or someone else with powers working their magic.

"Well more of them keep coming and I don't exactly have an unlimited supply of ammo." Sam said with a sigh.

"We don't have to beat them." Willow said as she ripped a demon dog in half while Daisy skewered the ones around them with sharp rocks. "We just have to give Shuri enough time to get that stone out of Vision's head."

"When I left..." Hope Pym grunted out as she struggled to hold open the mouth of one of the demon dogs. She had accidentally gotten too close to its mouth and it's like he knew what she was because he tried to eat her immediately. "We weren't even halfway done!" She shot a blast down the dogs throat and it screamed so she kept doing it until it's insides boiled. "I don't think we'll be able to get it out." That's what everyone had been worried about but nobody had wanted to say it out loud.

"Is that supposed Prince of Asgard coming or what!" Elena demanded as she, in the blink of an eye, ran through a line of demon dogs at the edge of the barrier, strapping bombs to their chests so she could stop them before they got too far in.

"I wouldn't expect much." Clint said as he tuck and rolled before shooting a fire bomb arrow into a hoard of the monsters.

"I don't know. Steve's motivational speeches usually get people going." Natasha said with a slight smirk as she and Okoye went back to back to fight off nearly twenty demon dogs together.

"Oh no, he's probably just going to make some grand entrance." Bruce said, firing his blasters at the barrier.

"I've always been fond of grand entrances." A smooth voice replied as an unnatural looking fog washed over the field, licking the heels of the heroes and the dogs. Emerging from the fog first came Korg, loaded down with vibranium weapons, ready to re-arm Wakanda warriors and fight off as many demon dogs as he could. Valkyrie charged through next, standing on top of a rhino that she quickly vaulted off of so that it wouldn't get too close to the battlefield, before she dove sword first right into a pile of demon dogs. Then Loki and nearly a thousand of his apparitions came out of the fog and charged at Thanos' army. But even with their help and even after Wanda emerged to join the fight as well, the Avengers were loosing.
