Mount Olympus, palace and dwelling to the olympian gods and goddesses. After Titanomachy, the battle during which the Olympians defeated their predecessors, the Titans, Olympus was created and with it a place to stay for demigods. The new generation of said gods, who were known to roam the human realm and not so rarely fall in love with a human and or beast.
Some demigods prefered to live in the human realm, which is where they were told to stay. Others traveled to Olympus when they figured out their potential and wanted nothing else but live with those that were just like them and train hard to learn more about who they were 'destined' to be. The doors were open to all, even sons and daughters of Hades, not that there were any given as Hades prefered to stay in the underworld and play around with Persephone, his wife or more like his captive. And no one has ever claimed to be a son of Hades..not that anyone knows.
Demigods who stayed with humans lead a calm and normal life. And soon after would lose traces and memories of anything that had to do with Olympus and gods.
For kids in Olympus, and its camp for demigods, things were different. Most kids around knew which god was a part of them, and those were the lucky ones. Others, had to wait to be told, Iris would come every decade to give each one their respective letter from the gods themselves. Those, were unlucky, why? Because it was always frustrating, and you'd be laughed at for not knowing anything about yourself (funny really when almost everyone had been in the position themselves), not knowing which camp you were going to sleep in, not knowing who were your brothers and who were enemies, not knowing what powers you had and what could kill you. You were a nobody, and the best moment of your life they said was when you got the letter, because you suddenly fit in somewhere.
And everything was right from there on, you learned how to use your powers, you'd make new friends, you could sleep in your assigned camp room and have a family of your own...
Not anyone, in all of the history of Olympus S.G has ever, ever denied the letter. No one was ever unhappy with fate, with who they were. Everyone had a pretty good idea of who they were gonna be anyway, or atleast who they hoped to be. And everyone around them also did.
But, what if it wasn't what you expected? What if the your identity felt like a sick joke? What if you the letter was a lie or maybe Iris gave you the wrong one!?
Byun Baekhyun was unhappy, he felt sick to the stomach, and suddenly everything around him was collapsing and he was the only one who couldn't move, because he was shocked.
He had just received his letter, along with ten others. Screams of joy and laughter filled the air and everyone around his small figure jumped and skipped around with the letter in hand. Kids from other camps joined the celebration but Baekhyun didn't move an inch.
Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Athena, was Zeus too much to ask? Why of every god had he gotten who he got? I mean why did his father have to fck around with this one god. Byun Baekhyun had worked hard to build his image to figure out who he was, despite the negative comments all around him. He was gonna be a great god, son of one of the best. Heck if Hades ended up to be his father he'd be glad and not refuse. But...
"Iris are you sure this is my letter?" the small boy just had to ask. He knew it was impossible for Iris,( messenger of the gods) to mess up. But could a boy hope?
"Dear boy, your name is written in gold across the envelope. How could I possibly give the son of Aphrodite the wrong letter. She made me make sure yours stood out." Iris forced a smile at him but flew away quickly too.
Aphrodite was the goddess of love and beauty. A beautiful woman, and everyone knew it. The camp was filled with daughters of Venus, all just as pretty as the god..or so they thought. And there was only one other guy in that camp, besides baekhyun himself now.
Kris wu, he was handsome, truly up to his role as son of Aphrodite. Baek hadn't ever really talked to the guy but one could tell how much of a self centered person he was, and so as the other guys he hung out with.
"I just still can't believe it.."
Baekhyun had his own best friend in the camp, and this person he thought was the most important in his entire life and would always support and never laugh at him, was in tears with mocking laughter as he read Baeks letter from Aphrodite herself. Not believing just like himself what was written on it in a beautiful cursive gold. "Dear Byun Baekhyun I'm truly very lucky to have to claim you as my son! You are such a darling, and I've heard a whole lot of you in the camp from Iris. You have such beautiful features just like your mother! And I'm sure this is shocking news to you (It was!) but you are just where you belong, I'm sure your lovely sisters will do a great job in taking care of you and so if my other only son. I will visit (fake line used by every god because everyone knew they would never come down) to look at your cute face up close. Take care and learn how to reject a man and capture them with your charms.
Love, Aphrodite "
"She knows you like it up the-" Luhan, Baekhyun's best friend also son of Hera (goddess of marriage and family) was cut off by a very hard hit to the face with a pillow. Baekhyun was not up for one of Luhans dirty comments now. He had just found out that his mother was Aphrodite, the very opposite of what he wanted. The very opposite of manly. This would certainly make him look more feminine than he ever had and it would not make the 'cute and adorable' comments stop. Honestly he never knew if he should take those as compliments or as indirect insults. All he wanted was to train like he thought he deserved, he wanted to be with the strong ones..he wanted to be him. And by him he meant Park Chanyeol...
Demigod, son of Apollo, and one could believe it..he had the dashing smile, the laid back personality, played music like a god (music that made every girls heart melt, that including Baeks), was tall and handsome he was certainly one to be the sun. And he loved to be the center of attention. Baek envied him, he was one of the few who knew from the beginning who they were and have always been the best at it. Park Chanyeol was perfect, he was also...Kyungsoo's boyfriend. He was known as D.O son of Artemis...kind, strong, pure, and a badass. They made a good couple, and were known around campus, as well as the other demigods that just simply stood out. One being his brother...Kris wu, son of Aphrodite, handsome and tall..could be a model in the human realm. Kim Junmyeon, better known as Suho, son of Tyche goddess of good luck and fortune. He was kind to everyone and a leader to all those who followed. Yiking, son of Nike goddess of victory. He was certainly a hard worker and was known never to lose a battle..except one against Min-seok son of Athena god of wisdom, war and useful arts. And then finally, Kim jongin son of one of the big ones, poseidon. He was handsome, not as much as Chanyeol in Baeks view but enough to be make ones heart flutter and strong.
Those were the seven idols, they slept in on a special camp it being because they were the strongest and entered in on competitions (ones held every random year to see skill) as one and won every time they did too so obviously they were recognized. They were demigods with a powerful aura and one Baekhyun so badly wanted to be apart of. Because maybe then he'd be able to grow stronger, and Zeus would let him leave..to the human realm that is. It was Baeks dream (as well as everyone elses) to have the higher ups notice him, he wanted to be recognized for his power and be able to walk in and out of Olympus as he liked. He wanted to feel what it was like to be a half god for real. And the only way he was going to do that is mixing in with the idols.
The only problem was Park Chanyeol. And baeks lack of words whenever he's close to him.
