Newt's POV
"Let's go," I sighed. We got in the plane and Jorge was flying us. Alessia and I sat together. I had my arms around her. "I've missed hugging you."
"I've missed you," Alessia smiled. She glanced over at Vince. "I'll be right back."
"Okay," i nodded. She went to go talk to Vince. Thomas came and sat next to me. "So, Alessia dated you while I was a crank?"
"It took her months to move on but she never let go," Thomas replied. "I figured when we no longer together when I saw you with her. You're her first love, Newt. You're her everything." I nodded. "She's your best friend. Do not doubt anything about her. You're the one who holds her heart."
"I do love her," I smiled. "When we get back, would you by my best man? I want to get married to her as soon as possible." Thomas was speechless. "I know. I just came back from being a crank but that doesn't change how I feel about her."
"Newt, I'll be your best man," Thomas nodded. "I'll be honored to watch the two of you tie the knot."
"Brenda," I motioned for her to come over. She did. "I have a request for you."
"What is it?" Brenda asked.
"Remember what I talked to you about?" I asked. "A dress for Alessia for the wedding."
"It's in my hut at the haven," Brenda replied. "Is there any adjustments I need to make?"
"No, we just need to get her into it as soon as we get there," I nodded. "I'm going to need all of you to help me set up. Brenda, you're in charge of the bride."
"Vince is giving her away," Brenda nodded. "It's only right if her dad gives her away to you."
"When did Vince become her dad?" I asked.
"He's always been her dad since she was born," Brenda replied. "She took a sample of his blood and ran it against hers. He's her biological father."
"Well, I better watch my back," i replied. I grabbed Alessia's book and walked up to her and Vince. "Could I borrow Alessia?"
"Yeah," Vince nodded.
"I'll talk to you back at the haven," Alessia nodded. She followed me to the back of the plane. "What is it, Newt? You're not gonna throw me off the plan, are you?"
"No, nothing like that," I nodded. "Glad to hear you still got your sense of humor."
"I try," Alessia smiled. "Why do you have my book?"
"To make things official between us, Alessia," I replied. I opened her book to remove the ring from the page. "I'm not sure how this proposal thing works but our relationship had lasted three years before I turned into a crank." Alessia nodded. "But with you, even though you tried to move on, you kept our relationship going." I looked at her. "Will you marry me, Alessia?"
"With my heart," Alessia smiled. I put the rung on her finger. "I can now say that you're forever mine."
"I'm not going to kiss you till I take a shower and brush my teeth," I stated. "I'll just feel gross since I've been a crank."
"What a gentleman," Alessia sighed. "I love you."
"I love you too," I replied.
"Newt," Minho walked up to us. "Can we talk?"
"Go ahead," Alessia nodded. "I'll be taking a nap up front. Jorge wants someone with him."
"Okay," i nodded. Alessia left. "What's up, Minho?"
"How am I supposed to keep your promise if you're alive?" Minho asked.
"You don't," I sighed. "Minho, I was dying."
"You made a promise because you were dying?" Minho asked.
"She made me a promise," I replied. "Well, I told her to move on and she did. She dated Thomas, but I never told her to do anything else. She moved on but she didn't let go." I held up her book. "This book tells me that she doesn't go a day without thinking of me every second of every single day, Minho."
"Well, I hope you know I'm only staying because of Aleesia," Minho replied.
"You going to marry Alessia and throw away a friendship you made in the Glade, or are you going to keep that friendship and break up with Alessia?: Gally crossed his arms, walking up to me. "That's a really tough choice, Newt? The love of your life or your brother? Just choose carefully."
"Nothing is going to change the way I feel about Alessia," I looked at Gally. "Minho will come around. He always does." I walked to the front of the plane. "Hey, Jorge."
"Shh," Jorge pointed at Alessia. She was asleep. "Poor girl slaved eight months with WCKD."
"I can't begin to imagine what she went through," I sighed.
"We had several attempts to get her out but she refused," Jorge replied. "Said she wasn't leaving without her world." I looked at Jorge. "At first I thought she was talking about her book but now I know what she was talking about."
"Jorge, I wanted to ask if you'll do the honor to marry us and make it official?" I asked. "We're already engaged."
"Consider it done, hermano," Jorge smiled. "The way she talks about you, you two deserve each other."
"Thanks," I smiled. I went back out to the group and took a seat. I looked through Alessia's book and just smiled. Our memories were her only escape from reality when I was gone. We started landing. As we landed, I went to the front of the plane. "Alessia?" I knelt down in front of her chair. "Alessia?"
"Hmm," Alessia hummed. She opened her eyes. "What time is it." She looked at her wrist watch. "It's eleven in the morning. Did I sleep all night?"
"You did," I smiled. "Come on." I grabbed Alessia's hand and we walked off the plane together. Brenda walked up to us. "Are you good?"
"Yeah," Brenda nodded. "Come on, Alessia."
"Okay?" Alessia questioned.
"It's okay," I nodded. Alessia left with Brenda. I followed Thomas to his hut. "Nice room."
"Suit is right there," Thomas replied. "You get ready. I'll get everyone together."
"Alright," I nodded. I took a shower, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. "I'm ready."
"You look nice," Thomas nodded.
"Thanks, man," I smiled. I walked outside and Thomas had gotten things put together with everyone. I walked up to Jorge. "Can I get everyone's attention?" They all looked at me. "I just wanted to say that I'm proud of all of you. I remember some of you that I saved, I remember losing myself to the virus, I remember how some of you told me to not give up. I'm here now. I'm cured. Alessia saved my life. Because of that, I want to share this moment with all of you."
"I now will present the bride," Brenda walked down the aisle. "It took awhile to get her to stop crying tears of joy, but she's on her way." I saw Alessia on Vince's arm at the end of the aisle. "A vision in white."
