"How can I put it down into words
When it's almost too much for my soul alone?"

Chapter three

P A I N

She felt the presence of several creatures, strong with the force long before she entered the room. When the doors in front of her glided apart, she entered a circular room with many chairs, all facing the middle of the room. There were windows replacing the walls 360 degrees around them and Nicole felt like she could stare at the enchanting view of the city forever. Several humans and other species occupied the chairs. Several places a man had been unable to access the meeting in person. There, was a hologram of the man instead present.

Her escort placed himself next to the door with his back against the wall. He gestured for her to take place in the middle of the room. She looked at him and raised her eyebrows as she thought: 'you cannot be serious?'.

'Give me some personal space' she thought to herself, but then her escort reached out to her. He put his hand on her back and even though it was clear that she did not prefer being pushed into the center of attention, she was too proud to walk out once she was there. Her escort took a few long steps, fading into the background again.

So, she lifted her chin up and straightened her back like a proud warrior. Like her teachers had taught her to carry herself.

"You name is Nicole Dice, yes?" A bald, brown man was the first to speak up on the matter at hand.

"Yes," Nicole confirmed. Her voice sounded a little too vulnerable and uncertain for her liking. Here she was, trying to look confident in front of these important people. Then her voice decides to betray her.

typical.

"Do you have any memory of surviving the attack on the planet Kalo and later being rescued by a group of men including him?" The bald man held out his right hand towards a colleague sitting next to him. The man had sandy hair and kind, blue eyes that watched Nicole concernedly. Nicole drew in a sharp breath when she recognized him. He was the man who had spoken to her a second before her vision went dark...

"Yes, I remember."

"Then, will you us enlighten, please?" Nicole snapped her head in the direction of the new voice. It came from a not just old, but really old-looking, green... small... creature.

"Excuse me?" She spoke confusedly.

"Please, tell us what you remember from the attack, Nicole." The man with the sandy hair and blue eyes spoke to her in a calming voice.

"Uh, I... I remember..." She furrowed her brows together in her attempt to find her memories of a few days prior.

"The teachers calling all students together, because something important had come up. They told us that... enemy spaceships had been spotted entering our system and-"

"Hold up... Teachers? You were in a school?" The bald man had seized her stream of words.

"I was at The Camp..." she trailed off, forgetting that none of the men before had a clue of what camp she was talking about.

"I-I mean... I-" Suddenly her mouth went dry. She became aware of the fact that all the men surrounding her were judging every little move she made. Her eyes darted around the room too intimidated to make contact with any of the Jedi's eyes. She felt her breathing become ragged as she stood fidgeting. She blinked as her vision became blurry.
