"We've lost control,
anything but gently down the stream
Hold me close,
hold me tell me life is but a dream."

P U R P O S E
"Nicole, listen closely, once we are inside I want you to let me do the talking."
Obi-wan turned his head to look at me and Anakin, trailing behind him.
"That goes for both of you, do you hear me, Anakin?"
"Yes, Master."
"Good. Keep silent, no games, no wookie-jokes. Damn near got me beheaded the last time..."
...
Her stomach turned at the mechanical sound of the big doors sliding open in front of her. It was sickening to be in the Jedi council chamber, almost like she physically repelled it.
It looked the same except for a few open chairs - Obi-wan's chair included. She smiled to herself as she followed said Jedi and his padawan into the center of the circular room, shielding herself behind them.
A few moments of silence passed while one Jedi Master was fiddling with some paperwork. He wrote something at the bottom of it and one of his servants headed out the door with the folder. Nicole wanted to tell him to take her with him.
The Jedi looked up and coughed awkwardly.
"My apologies. Let us begin."
Nicole took her hands and placed them behind her back, bracing herself for the conflict about to play out in front of her. She did not know what the Jedi intended for her but no matter what she was going to fight for her right to stay with Obi-wan.
She knew and trusted Obi-wan as the faithful friend he was. But what she lacked in knowledge of was whether the other Jedi saw her through the same eyes as him. She was terrified that they would send her somewhere, far away. Or worse, they could sell her to a bounty hunter. Just another nameless object scattered with the wind.
A shiver ran through her body.
Her eyes darted to the bald, brown man who she recognized from before, as he spoke up.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to discuss the forward security and whereabouts of Nicole Dice of the Northern Tribe, planet Kalo. She is the last of the people from said planet and the last waterbender of the acknowledged areas of our galaxy."
His eyes peeked out over the top of the papers he had been reading out loud from. His expression was unreadable.
"In charge of responsibility is Jedi Obi-wan Kenobi. The High Jedi Council has prepared to present a security plan-"
"Master Windu, I would like to make a request."
The room fell silent as Obi-wan interrupted the Jedi master.
Nicole didn't move an inch as Master Windu squinted his eyes at his colleague. Windu took one last look at his papers before he let them go, scattering them onto the floor in a frustrated manner as he leaned back into his chair with a small sigh.
"Go ahead."
"I speak on behalf of both of us when I request that Nicole Dice of the Northern Tribe is granted permission to stay at the Jedi temple on Coruscant. In a situation like this, I shall try my best to convince you that we should comply with Nicole's own wishes including her wish to stay with me and my padawan in our assigned chamber. I'm aware of the potential complications of granting our wish but I beg to differ - I think it will be an opportunity for both me and Anakin to grow as Jedi and for Nicole to feel safe in the midst of this chaos-"
