CHAPTER 1
I've spent so long searching for him. But now that he's here, I don't know what comes next.
My heart beats and beats more than one hundred thousand.
As exaggerating, Travis spoke.
"Are you just gonna stare at each other?"
Tumikhim ako. Go back to your senses, Carlisle.
"In my study." I said.
I didn't wait for them to answer. Hindi ko rin sana sila lilinguning muli. But Travis chuckled.
"What?" painosenteng tanong nito.
I just rolled my eyes over that.
Kuya and him sat in front of us - my mother.
"Are you really sure about your withdrawal, hijo?" asked Mama.
"Yes-"
"Sorry to hear that, then. I'm not gonna waste time gaining your trust back."
"Carlisle,"
"Yes, ma?"
"We're being professional here." Ngiwi pa niya.
"I'm being professional here, too. I respect his decision over the withdrawal."
"But-"
"I don't care if he's helped the company. We have so many stockholders and investors still not withdrawing. Why do waste time over this?"
I can't hold my anger anymore. This is so fucking a waste of time, you know.
"Does seeing your ex threaten you, hmm?"
Tinaasan ko ng isang kilay si Kuya. My other Kuya, tho.
"What do you think?"
He just laughed. Ezra coughed. I looked at him.
"Well, then, I guess the meeting is done?" sabay tingin kay Mama.
"What? No-"
"Ma, what again? Do we need to still process this on the court?"
"Oh, that's another story, mom." Kuya said, still laughing.
"Stop laughing, can you?"
Nilingon ko si Ezra.
"Mind if we end this?"
Napataas ang kilay nito. It has a double meaning to him, haven't it?
"No. This won't end here."
My mother walked out of the room. What's wrong with that woman?
"I'll leave. You can have a little chit-chat," he then winked.
Napasinghap ako nang kami na lang ang natira.
Presko naman itong sumundal sa kaniyang kinauupuan. Saka tumayo.
Tumayo na rin ako bilang respeto.
"I guess it's done,"
I blink twice as he laid a hand.
I shook it once and let go of it. That move was civil, tho.
Pinauna na niya akong maglakad palabas ng pinto. Why does he keeps on giving me a déjà vu?
My heart is about to extinct. The butterflies I'm feeling on my stomach are being dragons.
He pulled my ponytail out of my hair. And I'm waiting for his next move. As my hair bounce, I looked back. Only to know that he's smiling.
