Lauren PoV

I nervously glanced around the table at my mom, dad and sister. Tonight would be the night that i feared most. I felt Camila’s hand rest on my knee under the table, trying to calm me down.

"Let’s dig in" My mom said smiling, passing out the pizza. I couldn’t help but think that her happy smile would soon be gone.

I couldn’t look at Camila, in fact i couldn’t really look at anybody. The once amazing looking pizza, now just a struggle to choke down. I couldn’t let my parents hear about Camila and me from anybody else, i had to do this.

"I have something to say" I boldly stated, i heard Camila choke a bit on her pizza. This was it i guess.

"Yes honey?" My father asked, all eyes on me.

"Don’t freak out" I added in.

"What is it?" My mom asked again.

"I…i’m bisexual and i’m in a relationship with Camila" I said, my parents gasped, "I love her" I laced my hand with Camila’s on the table.

My mom laughed a bit. “What?”.

"I’m bisexual mom, i think you heard me the first time" I felt my defensive side coming out.

"No you are not, finish your pizza" My mom declared as she went back to eating.

"Honey, are you sure?" My dad asked. I felt so overwhelmed.

"Yes I am sure!" I yelled a bit, wanting to get my point through to them.

"You are not gay Lauren! Stop with this talk!" My mom’s voice was slowly raising into a yell.

"You can’t change me! And you can’t reverse my love for her" I stammered back. This was unbelievable, she can’t tell me who i am.

"You little bitch" My mom said towards Camila, "You did this to my daughter!".

"Honey calm down" My dad tried to calm my mom, a look of shock still displayed across his face.

"Don’t call my girlfriend that!" I yelled, stabbing my fork into the table.

"Get out of my house Camila, now!" Her face was red with anger.

Camila stood up, but it was already too late. My mom was pulling her by her hair towards the door, Camila yelled in pain.

"stop!" My sister yelled, my father just sitting there.

"Dad! Help!" I yelled, running towards Camila and my mom. I clawed at my mom, trying to loosen her grip.

"You were not raised this way!" She yelled at me. I felt tears in my eyes, helpless. My mom threw Camila out the door, she rubbed her scalp.

"You are never seeing my daughter again!" My mom slammed the door and i started walking up the steps. I turned around one last time.

"Wrong mom. The only person never seeing their daughter again, is you. I’m done with you thinking i am perfect! I love her and there is nothing wrong with it. You’re pathetic" I spat out.

"You will not talk to me like that!"

"You won’t have to worry about it much longer, i’m done living with his family". I ran into my room and grabbed a bag, stuffing in clothes and other necessities. The tears streamed down my face, everything was wrong. The way my mom hurt Camila broke my heart, i guess we have to hope that Camila’s family accepts us.

I can’t believe this, I was stranded on an island for a month and my parents are being this rude and unwelcoming to me?

I stormed out of my house without a word, i slammed the door behind me and looked around for Camila.
