Chapter 18: Birthday

sorry i just barly realize i didnt post this part! :( 

Rapunzel's Pov

The whole week had passed smoothly and i was nervous for today... Its saturday morning and Eugene said he's going to talk to mother... but i don't know how everything is going to turn out... I mean, i don't want her to hurt him, he's really special to me...

I walked downstairs after texting Elsa, she says if my mother approves, she gave me her address so everyone can meet her there. i took a deep breath when i saw mother in the kitchen reading some mail

"Mother..?" i called, pulling on my fingers nervously, she looked up at me

"What is it flower?" she looked down at the mail again

"Um... a friend of mine is going to come over and speak with you..." i bit my lips, her head shot up at me

"I see...who?" i could tell she was holding in her anger

"He'll...be here any minute..." i admit looking down, she sighed

"Alright sweet heart" after that, the door rang, my heart dropped and i went to open the door. Eugene had a nervous look on his face, but hid it when he saw mine

"Hello Rapunzel" he smiled

"Hello Eugene..." i let him in to see mother, she looked at him suspiciously and walked closer, my body started shaking as she reached him, he was holding his nervousness inside

"Hello young man, I'm Gothel, and who might you be?" she asked shaking his hand politely, i could tell this was an act

"Im Eugene Fitzherbert ma'am, I'm friends with Rapunzel at school, i would like to ask your permission to take her out for her birthday with her other friends" he told her confidently, she blinked

"I see...this is a first... but i guess i can let her go out" i blinked surprise, she is being strangely nice, but i know she doesn't want to be rude because it'll blow her cover "Rapunzel, who pull up your hair, its too long for you to keep it in public" she told me, i nodded and yanked Eugene's hand upstairs, i didn't want the two of them alone

I shut my door "oh my goodness...shes actually letting me go..." i said

"Probably because she doesn't want to blow her cover"

"You took the words out of my mouth" i giggled walking to my mirror, i grabbed a hair tie and started to braid my long blonde hair, Eugene stared at me smiling the whole time. i finished my braid and pinned it up like Elsa would. I looked at him strangely

"What?" i giggled

"You look very nice today" he smiled looking at my long sleeve pink shirt and floral skinnies with pink vans

"Thank you..." i blushed. i walked towards him and hugged him, he seemed surprised "and thank you for keeping me company... maybe my luck is finally beginning..." he chuckled and hugged me back

"Anything for you Rapunzel" he smiled

"Whoa...what happened to Blondie" i giggled. he shrugged and we walked downstairs together. mother was on the couch watching tv "mother...I'm ready..." She turned to look at me. she got up and hugged me, i flinched terrified

"If you even think about running away, i will hunt you down like a bear... do you understand flower?" she hissed whispering to my ear. i gulped and softly nodded, she let go of the hug and looked at Eugene "bring her back by midnight" he nodded and held my hand

"Yes ma'am, i will take good care of your daughter, i wont let anything happen to her" he promised, she liked that he said that

"Very well" she looked annoyed lifting her chin, we walked out the house letting out of breaths
