The Search for the Stray

(Y/n) spends the next hour or so being told exactly what just had happened by his sisters. This causes him to say.
(Y/n):"Well do you think she's ok?"
Ruby:"I'm not sure."
Yang:"She could be literally anywhere right now. I guess if she isn't back by tomorrow morning we can go look for her."
(Y/n):"Well let me know if she hasn't come back. My team probably wouldn't mind helping you guys look for her."
Ruby:"Actually, (y/n) do you think you can keep this a secret. At least for now, ok?"
(Y/n):"Um sure Ruby I won't tell anyone. I promise."
Ruby:"Thank you."
Ruby and Yang then hug their brother before saying to him.
Ruby and Yang simultaneously:"Goodnight (y/n)."
(Y/n):"Goodnight I'll talk to you tomorrow."
With that said he walks next door to his dorm. At first glance everyone seems to be asleep thus, he sighs while running his fingers through his hair. He then is made to realize were all asleep as he hears Ren ask.
Ren:"You alright (y/n)?"
This slightly startled (y/n) as he didn't expect anyone to be awake causing him to respond with.
(Y/n):"Oh um yeah I'm... I'm alright. Why are you up Ren?"
Ren just kinda shrugs before saying something in his always calm voice.
Ren:"Just kinda couldn't sleep."
Thanks to the way he speaks it's extremely hard for (y/n) to tell if what he said was true or not, but being that it's Ren chances are he was being truthful. Ren continues the conversation by asking.
Ren:"Did your sisters enjoy their gifts?"
(Y/n):"Yeah they loved them. The problem is that those weren't cheap and if I know my sisters those bullets won't last a week."
Ren gets a light chuckle before saying.
Ren:"Well we should probably get some sleep."
(Y/n):"Yeah well goodnight."
-the next day in Vale with Ruby, Yang, and Weiss-
They were looking for Blake as she hadn't returned after last night. They are all calling her name except for Weiss who is being rather, "unhelpful" will say. They begin to have a conversation as (y/n) uses his helmet to scan every little alleyway to see if he can pick up on anything sadly no such luck. As they are searching a feminine voice rings out from behind (y/n) saying.
???:"And I think this guys helmet is cool!"
Everyone turns around surprised while (y/n) jumps forward before falling in a seated position in front of the girl as Ruby asks.
Ruby:"Ah Penny what are you doing here?!"
Penny:"Oh I was just wandering around until I saw you guys."
She looks down at (y/n) as she asks.
Penny:"Oh sorry for startling you. What's your name?"
(Y/n) responds a little flustered as he says.
(Y/n):"I'm um (y/n) Xiao Long. I'm Ruby and Yang's brother."
Penny then responds really cheerfully.
Penny:"Oh then it is great to meet you brother of Ruby."
(Y/n):"Um thanks it's uh great to meet you too."
Penny:"So what are you doing?"
Yang answers her by saying.
Yang:"We're looking for Blake."
Penny:"Oh you mean the faunus girl."
Everyone is shocked at her statement before Ruby asks.
Ruby:"Wait how did you know that?"
Penny points to her head where ears would be if she were a faunus before saying.
Penny:"The cat ears."
Yang:"What cat ears? She wears... a bow."
The tone of her voice proves that she had just come to a realization mid way through. Ruby then says lightly.
Ruby:"She did really like tuna."
Penny:"Well where is she then?"
Ruby:"We don't know she's been missing since last night."
Penny walks past (y/n) to Ruby and picks her up while saying.
Penny:"That's terrible. Well don't you worry Ruby my friend I won't rest until we find your teammate."
Ruby then says while looking extremely uncomfortable.
Ruby:"Um that's really nice of you Penny, really it is. But I think we're ok right guys?"
She looks to see everyone had left during her conversation with Penny (y/n) included. This causes Ruby to think.
Ruby's thoughts:"(Y/n) you traitor!"
(Y/n) had actually gone to high ground using roof tops to get better overall scans with his motion sensor.
-nighttime at the docks-
He has been scanning pretty much every section of the city until he scans one last time at the docks but he is surprised by all the people he had spotted. He then pulls the Icebreaker off his back and begins to use the scope for further reconnaissance. Upon doing so he notices that all those people were white fang. He sits there thinking of what to do because, he realizes there are too many for him to initiate a fight on his own despite his superb sniping skills. His thoughts are cut short as he sees through his scope Blake jump down leaving him very little choice in the matter. Thus, he turns a little dial on the side of the Icebreaker which lowers the heat of the payload from a disintegrating shot to a aura breaking blast. He then waits for just the right time. He watches as Blake takes a man with orangish hair like a hostage as white fang surround her. (Y/n) is taking deep breaths and closes his eyes as he says to himself.
(Y/n):"Inhale...1 2...Exhale."
As he finishes this his eyes open and he watches as one of the soldiers behind Blake goes in for a an attack but (y/n) is faster as he drags his scope over to them knocking the attacker out of the air while destroying their aura. There is a tense silence down below as (y/n) exhales and smirks while saying.
(Y/n):"Too easy."
Some soldiers aim their weapons up to (y/n)'s position while the other book it to cover. During this whole debacle the orange haired man breaks from Blake's grasp and begins to fire at her. (Y/n) attempts to line up a shot on him before being suppressed by all the gunfire coming to his position. He takes cover and pops two smoke grenades allowing him to become invisible and slip away to another roof top. On the ground it's a practical war zone as explosions and gunfire ring throughout Vale. (Y/n) just continues to do what he does best and continually picks off soldier after soldier with the Icebreaker. Until a giant ship comes into sight and begins to fire at (y/n) for a good bit pinning him down. Then all of the sudden without warning he notices he is no longer being shot at by the ship. He looks to see it being pulled away as he watches Penny fight it on her own. Sadly the ship gets free and retreats into the night. (Y/n) stands on the ledge of the building he is own as he looks down and sees all of team RWBY conversing. Blake then looks up to the rooftop he was on and sees him give a two finger salute as he turns invisible. This causes Blake to smile and wave back. (Y/n) arrives back at his dorm later to notice everyone is asleep thus, he just changes and hops into his bed before drifting off into sleep.
