Aftermath V.2

First altered chapter so let's jump in!
-a week later-
(Y/n) grunts as he opens his left eye and feels nothing but excruciating pain radiating from everywhere on his body. Specifically the right side of his face and body. He just reaches up to the right side of his face only to feel gauze and then hiss in pain as his fingers touched against the wrapping. He hears a gasp and turns to see Summer rushing up to him only to wrap him in a hug, without hurting him. She then says through tears.
Summer:"We thought we were gonna lose you. I'm so glad your ok."
(Y/n):"..........!!!"
Summer pulled back to see fear in (Y/n)'s eyes as he tries to force words from his throat. Only for their to be painful silence, the only noise being produced is frantic hyperventilating and breathing as he tries to speak but he can't. He then reaches up to feel his throat with his left arm only to realize most of its gone. Summer begins to try comforting the panicking child, but all it devolves into is (Y/n) crying into Summer's shoulder. However, there was someone else watching this, it was Ruby and it broke her heart to see him like this. It took a bit for things to heal, granted (Y/n) felt the word "heal" for the wounds on his face was a bit generous. He had burn scars that were in several places but one of the worst was the one that burnt his eye causing his right eye's pupil to be very difficult to notice along with the cloudiness of his iris which is accompanied by redish sclera. In the explosion a piece of his helmet hit his throat which crushed his voice box in the process. He had also lost his left arm and leg due to the explosion, but no injury was as bad as hearing what had happened to Pyrrha it crushed him.

-3 weeks later-
(Y/n) was out with Tai to get some groceries. (Y/n) didn't wanna go but Summer and Ruby convinced him to since he had done nothing but sit in his room and work on a drone.

(Looks like this but is white instead of black and green instead of red, y'know because Penny)
He had to use a crutch to get around and because of his lack of limbs he was getting a lot of sympathetic looks of which he wasn't fond of. Tai soon began to notice his son beginning to get upset due to the attention and just puts a hand on his shoulder as he says.
Tai:"Just don't pay attention to it (Y/n)."
(Y/n) just nods very sadly. They are walking around until (Y/n) sees Ruby and his favorite weapon shop and decides to step inside just to look in hopes that it would cheer him up. After about 5 minutes of looking he finds that he has actually started to feel worse, especially after seeing a 50 cal. rifle and then looking sadly at his lack of a left arm. He sighs in defeat at realizing he could no longer wield any such weapon anymore. Tai saw this and it hurt to watch his son look so defeated. Thus he walked to his son and asked.
Tai:"You ok?"
(Y/n) just looks to Tai and looks down at his one foot and then sighs and just begins to leave the store and starts heading to the grocery store. Tai knew this was very hard for (Y/n) to cope with. It wasn't getting easier as Tai watched so many people walk by and either look in disgust or sympathy. All of the attention is falling on him and (Y/n) is getting very nervous and upset. He begins to tremble and snivel a little as Tai realizes he's having a panic attack. Tai just grabs (Y/n)'s shoulder and turns him away from the crowd and begins to push him along before saying.
Tai:"Cmon lets go back home. Summer and Ruby can just come back through for groceries ok? I'm sorry I put you in this situation."
(Y/n) just looked at Tai thankfully and hugged him tightly and began to cry. Upon making it back home (Y/n) went up to his room as quickly as he could before closing the door behind him and then leaning it against it as he slid down to the floor. Meanwhile, downstairs Summer, Yang, and Ruby watched (Y/n) go upstairs as quickly as he can. Summer then breaks the silence by asking.
Summer:"What happened?"
Tai:"People were giving him a lot of looks. He was about to have a panic attack. I just decided to bring him back home."
Yang and Ruby looked up the stairs sadly before Summer says.
Summer:"I'll go..."
She then began to cough violently for a bit longer than she should. It was so bad that she fell to her knees. Ruby and Yang looked at her very worried only for her to say after she regains her composure and then says.
Summer:"I'm fine just got a little cold. No need to worry you two. Why don't you two go on up to your rooms. Tai and I will go out for groceries."
They just does as she says and both head upstairs only for Tai to look at her worried before saying.
Tai:"How long are you going to keep this from them?"
Summer:"They don't need to hear this especially not him. Not now okay."
She begins to cough again but only for a second and Tai then just says.
Tai:"I understand. C'mon let's go."
A few hours pass and Ruby decides to go help (Y/n) with anything she could. Only she opens the door to see him sitting at his desk crying. His notebook is opened to the page that Pyrrha was drawn on. Ruby could understand the pain of her brother, she just walked in and hugged her brother in hopes of comforting him. They stay like that for awhile until they feel someone else join and they look to see it was Yang. She had been very closed off like (Y/n), but Yang could tell (Y/n) has had it much worse than her.
-a month later-
(Y/n) is currently sitting down on a stump toward the middle of the yard throwing a ball that Zwei would go fetch and bring back to him. He did this every once in a while as Zwei deserved some attention and also was one of the few things that could even get a remote smile out of him anymore. Also it should be noted that (y/n) is accompanied by the drone of which Ruby named a ghost since it has Penny's voice and personality. Penny then says.
Penny:"Go get the ball puppy!"
Zwei barks happily as he runs to go get the ball.(Y/n) then hears some snow crunching coming from the front of the house. This causes him to turn and see some people he wasn't expecting to see, he saw Ren and Nora standing by the door thus he makes his way over to them. About the time he makes it to a few feet behind them Ruby came out the door and looked afraid as she saw (Y/n). (Y/n) then says in sign language.
(Y/n):"Where are you going Ruby?"
(Y/n) decided to learn how to speak with sign language and Ruby learned how to read it for her brother's sake. Ren and Nora look a little confused before turning to see their former team leader which causes them to both grow a light smile before hugging their friend. He hugs back to the best of his ability which allows them to notice his lack of limbs and damage to his face.
Ren:"We weren't sure if you made it or not so it's good to see you (Y/n)."
Nora:"We were so afraid you were dead."
(Y/n) then signs
(Y/n):"It's good to see you guys too."
They look confused until Penny translates and says.
Penny:"He's happy to see you two."
(Y/n) just nods before turning back to his little sister as he signs.
(Y/n):"...where are you guys going?"
Ruby:"We're heading to Mistral to follow up on a lead about 'her'. But please don't tell anyone."
(Y/n) just nods and signs.
(Y/n):"Just please be safe."
Ruby:"I promise."
She then hugs her big brother tightly before heading out he then gets Ren and Nora's attention and signs for Penny to translate.
Penny:"He said. Look out for his little sister."
Ren:"Of course."
Nora:"You got nothing to worry about (Y/n)!"
(Y/n) signs.
Penny:"He says thank you."
Ren:"You're welcome, friend it's the least we could do."
With that they walk off into the woods to begin their trek as (Y/n) watches them leave.

A/n: That's another part completed. I hope you all enjoyed and I hope to see you all in the next one. I was supposed to have this edited chapter out yesterday but, kingdom hearts 3 made that a bit difficult. With all that said I'll see you all next time. Until then, Peace!
