"What do you mean you want to help?"

Sighing, Adrian said, "Us seniors in Law & Protection have been told about you and what's really going on."

They know what's really going on? They couldn't possibly. Tate perked his head. "Told you what?"

Adrian shrugged his shoulders before responding, "That there isn't some vigilante group that lead my four astray. We are under strict orders to pass on any information z\to Government straight away."

Tate leaned back and folded his arms. So that's what they've been told. That's all he needs to know.

"Adrian, while it is nice to see you and all, why are you here?" Emily asked with a raised brow.

Exhaling once again, Adrian replied, "I've only been inside Government once or twice, but I know they don't treat people too well that they're not happy with. And they are definitely not happy with you lot."

From the brief time I knew Adrian, I was confident in saying he does not exaggerate his words.

He switched his gaze over to me again. "Any other time, I wouldn't ever think to question any of my superiors. But I know all of you. I've had an intuition that something was going on awhile after you arrived. When you got that letter in the mail, people started noticing and I was told to keep an eye on you. Then you all were just gone. There was a meeting about what to do."

"So you're here to rat us out?" Beth asked with a scornful expression.

He shook his head, his mouth falling slightly open in shock.

Hector looked uneasy as he chimed in, "We already got stuff from Charity."

Adrian let out a soft chuckle. "Like what? I can get you the things you'll need for protection."

For protection? Thoughts scurried into my mind. If Government wants to talk with us, it'll be a way inside. We need this opportunity.

Adrian gave us a minute to talk and we all huddled close together.

"Government is the hub for everything. This is our chance to destroy all our ability-prevention medication," I whispered. A bubbling feeling was beginning to simmer in the pit of my stomach. It was cold but in an extremely refreshing way. It felt good.

"So, you suppose that they are just going to let us saunter on in and wreak all their stuff? Yeah, sure," Beth mocked.

I rolled my eyes before hissing back, "Is it necessary for you to always try to undermine me?"

Emily hissed some low words to her. Beth responded with just as much vigour, which resulted in both of them receiving a shove from Tate.

"Girls, shut up and listen. Sine's right. If we get in there, we'll have no problem doing what we like," he stated.

"Well, I don't get how that's gonna work," Beth said with a pout.

Tate smiled at her. "It's simple. We agree to talk with them, get in there, wreak havoc."

The bubbling in my stomach evolved rapidly into a raging inferno. This is great. This is going to be amazing. Looking around, I took in everyone else's faces. Tate had on his proud smirk, Beth was growing a slight smile, and Hector was grinning, gazing up at Tate. However, the look of enthusiasm was not passed onto the other three. They seemed uneasy with tense stances. My warmth dimmed a little. Do they not understand how great this'll be? I must have been the only one who noticed their expressions, because Tate made the final decision and disbanded the group.
