chapter 5

Jerry's POV

It's dinner time now, I say grace after I get my bowl of food. I wonder what Marie and the family are doing now that it should be noon in San Antonio. I think of Matthew and David and my mom and dad. I wonder if David is still with Claudia. I remember him being the flirt with girls in high school. He went through them like cologne bottles. I laugh at the thought and turn to see if anyone noticed. nope. I continue the thought and remember how he told me one night how he felt Claudia was the one. That now that high school was over he would settle down with her because he truly loved her because she was a challenge to him and she still was. I smile at the thought and think back to Marie. Eighth grade year when Aylin confronted me during a passing period "Marie likes you." she shot out and walked away. the words played in my head over and over. I only payed attention to her not minding the other girls that finally noticed me. mainly because after we got together freshman year I found out she liked me since sixth grade and might I say I wasn't a doll like my brother(even though she said I was a stud ;)).

When I snap back to reality I see I have finally finished my food and chug down the water i have left and place my bowl in our sink and wash it along with the cup.

I head back to my hammock. i place my boots and over clothes into a duffel bag, then head to the shower's. I rinse off all the gunk from today then grab a towel and head back. once I'm dressed I hang the towel over one of the ends and drift off to sleep thinking about Marie ....and that's what I dream of simply her here with me hugging onto me throughout the night.

Marie's POV

After Matt left the room I remained on the bed thinking about all the letters and wondered if the same thing happened to him and if he tried sending me letters too?

I felt a buzz in my back pocket at on my notification screen was a text symbol. I clicked.

From: Matt

Wanna go out somewhere? David and Claudia are playing my video games :( and I wanna talk to u.

From: Marie

Sure I'll be right there. let me just clear my eyes and fix my makeup.

I got off the bed making my way to the bathroom, taking makeup off and reapplying it. I went back to my room and pulled a circa survive sweater on over my two tank tops. and pulled off my shorts replacing them with black skinny jeans and slipping on some Toms.

When I reached the base of the stairs I said hi to Claudia and David and told them I'd be back in a bit, and of course David had the same stupid look that Matt had earlier when I got home because I was smiling.
