~Dawn

"I just don't understand why dinner at home woth your father has to be such a dressy occasion." I said following behind Rachel as she went to the kitchen to check on dinner.

We were having dinner with her father at our place and every time he came for dinner they wanted to get all dressed up like it was some type of ball room shit.

"Because its just our ritual. Since I was little he and I would have dinner and be all dressed up like a tea party." She smiled thinking back.

"Well y'all can be dressed up but I'm not wasting my good clothes on a stay at home meal." I said walking out the kitchen.

The past month had been great. Rachel and I hadn't been in any petty arguments and things seemed to run smoothly. Sometimes I think she acts up when she needs to bust a fat ass nut because she always gets it together afterwards. I always know whats going on with her. I can read her body like a dictionary.

Karina on the other hand was a wild card. She seemed to be okay with her community service. Her only issue was she wanted to smoke, but couldn't. She had to stay drug free. Drinking was her resort, which left her with hang overs. She would come into parole meetings groggy and grumpy. Her ass was always mad. Then she would get an attitude with me, which I have to ween her off of cause she be having me fucked all the way up sometimes.

I had to remember she wasn't used to this. She was used to doing whatever she wanted even if it was illegal. In order to stay out of jail, she was gonna have to come up off that.

"Where is she?" I heard my future father in law, Patrick's voice.

"In the backm she'll be out in a bit. Have a seat. Dinner is almost ready." Rachel chattered.

I walked out of thw room to see Patrick sitting at the table drinking some wine that Rachel had poured for him. As soon as he saw me he stood up with a grin. Patrick is one of the happiest people I've ever seen in my life. Always smiling and care free. I guess when you're filthy rich, you get to be real happy.

"Hey Dawn. Its always great to see ya." He gave me a side hug. We both took our seats as Rachel came back with a pot of chicken spaghetti. It was her specialty. She usually made healthy stuff, but when her father visited, that was her diet cheat day.

"Looks delicious." Patrick said causing Rachel to grin from ear to ear.

She plated the food and we all began eating. Sometimes I felt left out during these dinnera. Rachel and her dad would talk the entire time to each other and totally forget about me. But I guess thats how it goes when your fiancee is close with her father. They are not only father and daughter but best friends and their bond is unbreakable.

I decided to start up a conversation I could be a part of.

"So uh, who heard about the Raul situation. I heard they're dying to take him to jail." I said.

Their heads snapped in my direction as if I had said I eat maggots or some shit. Rachel sat with her mouth hanging open slightly then quickly got it together.

"Oh.. Well yeah they want to lock him up ASAP. Imagine the commission for that one."  She shook her head.

"They'll never catch him. The guy's a criminal genius. They could be in the same room with him and not even know it. Nobody even knows what he looks like." Patrick said before taking another bite of his chicken spaghetti.

"Wow you know an awful lot about him huh?" I raised my brow.

"Yeah... Uh guy tried to do business with me a couple years back through one of his messangers. I told him kick rocks." He said quickly while chewing.

"Don't you think that could be a lead for the poli-" Rachel cut me off.

"Enough about this criminal stuff. Its a Debby downer. Lets talk about something more upbeat like how I've been searching up wedding planners and I think I found the perfect one to plan our wedding." She said smiling brightly.

"Like who?" I asked.

"Me." Patrick said holding hid hands up and wiggling his fingers.

"For real?" I looked at them both.

"Yeah. He's a great events planner. You know he holds all the grand ball room events they have down town every year." Rachel said.

"In that case I'm leaving all the planning to him because he knows what he's doing. I've seem those events on TV and they are amazing." I said thinking back to the beautiful scenery and people he had at the elegant ballroom events.

"Exactly." She said sipping her wine.

"So how's that parolee you got?" He asked.

"She's a hand full. Always drunk as a skunk and if she ain't drunk she's hung over. At least she shows up on time now." I shrugged.

"Sounds like trouble." Rachel said.

"Eh." I smirked thinking about Karina and her bad attitude.

"Rachel tells me the girl is in a gang. What gang?" He asked.

"Gun Gurlz." I said.

"Hot damn. Thats a dangerous pack of bitches." He said frowning.

"How do you know?" I asked.

He hesitated. "The news. There's been a lotnof news on the stuff they do." He finished quickly.

"Yeah.."

"Well, I'm tired and I got an early morning. I'm gonna head home." He got up quickly.

"Alright dad I'll walk you out. Dawn can you clear the table?" She said.

I nodded and started clearing the table but as I cleaned up, I couldn't help but wonder why Patrick knew so much and how.
