Stephanie was all over the place. Her hair was a mess by now and she looked worn out. I wished I could help but I can't cook so I've been trying to just stay out of her way. Even Jamie and Tracy didn't want to interrupt her.

"Baby? Do you need any help....with anything?.."

I looked around the kitchen with all she had made already. Ribs, corn, kabobs of all types, burgers, hot dogs, even macaroni and cheese. She had made some rolls too.

"Umm...nah. I'm good. You just go sit down with them. But everyone's been called right?" "Yeah and everyone was thankfully free today. So everyone you asked for sounded happy to attend. You must cook barbeque really good though. Boosie and Jake were super excited."

She giggled and grabbed a rib she had made.

"Try it."

I opened my mouth and right when the barbeque on it hit me I was already in love. I was even more in love when I started chewing.

"Goddamn baby girl! What chu put on this?" "A cook never reveals her culinary arts." "Damn baby girl. Remind me never to be stupid enough to break up wit chu."

She giggled again.

"Juss how mama taught me when I was young." "She did you some good mommy. That shits good. I can't wait to eat now." "You can have one more since you seem to love it so much." "Really?! Can I?!" "Yes Gustav."

I smiled like a child and I grabbed two more then ran out the kitchen.

"Son of a bitch!" "You know you love me!"

I sat back on the couch and ate the sweet, but tangy ribs. Enjoying every bite like it'd be my last. Jamie groaned and got off the couch. She walked into the kitchen. I walked in after her to get some juice and throw the bones away from my ribs. Also to wash the barbeque off my hands.

Jamie whined,"When can we eattttt?"

She pouted at Stephanie and Stephanie smiled at her while making a fruit salad.

"Babes when everyone gets here you can have at it." "Ughhhhh but I'm hungry nowwww." "I know but you'll manage."

She pouted some more as she looked at all the food. I looked at her as I finished washing my hands then at the bowl of ribs. I looked back at her and she finally made eye contact with me. I darted my eyes towards the ribs again and back at her with slightly widened eyes as I glanced at Stephanie from the corner of my eye. She smirked and I grabbed Stephanie by her waist turning her around towards me.

"Oh my goodness baby. You're practically glowing today I swear." "Babe stop. I need to finish this fruit salad." "Mmm and you smell so good today too. That a new perfume?"

I pulled her into me and inhaled the air as hard as I could.

"Definitely smells like a new perfume."

She leaned back some, smiling. Playing with her hair.

"It actually is a new one. I didn't even think you'd notice." "Baby of course I did."

I pulled her back closely to me.

I then mouthed to Jamie behind Stephanie's back,"Grab me some."

She nodded and put 6 on a napkin then walked back into the living room. I let go of Stephanie and she smiled at me with a small blush.

"Imma see you inna second cutie."

She blushed harder as she looked at me daydreamingly. I walked out the kitchen and sat on the couch next to Jamie and Tracy who were already eating their two ribs. She handed me mines and I started eating with a smile on my face.
