You have no reason to apologize for writing something purely self indulgent! If you want to write something that you don't feel many would appreciate then that's their problem, not yours! If you only write what others want you to write and not what you want to write then you'll find that writing will become a chore and not enjoyable. Don't let others destroy your passion for writing, remember to write for yourself.
