The guy lead me down the hallway. I shuffled after him.
"What's going on?" I asked him, as he sheathed his sword.
He looked back. "The scientists at the local high school screwed up," he said airily. "See, they put one chemical with another. All good, right? Nah." he gestured with his hands, signifying an explosion. "Boom. Zombie."
I shook my head to clear it. "Okay. Do they have a-" I hesitated. "A cure?"
"No," my savior said. "I wish."
"What's your name?"
"Sterling. What about-"
Before he could finish, a voice boomed over the speaker.
"Everyone please report to the gym."
I looked around: other people were heading towards the gym. For once, the hallways were absolutely quiet.
"The gym?" I asked.
"Yeah." Sterling replied. "Let's go."
We headed towards the gym. Sterling unsheathed his sword, then pushed the door open.
I peeked inside.
Dread filled my heart.
I let out a squeak.
The dead milled about inside, a mass field of terrifying sickening green. Their arms were outstretched; their eyes were wide and lifeless.
It was a trap.
