Bright pain exploded from my arm.
I cried out in pain, and painfully waited for the other swipe, which would be the final one.
The creature raised his sword, aiming for the killing blow, but before he could, a sword wiped the zombie's head off.
I turned around, to find Abigail with James's sword unsheathed now, panting hard.
Before I could tell him anything, Sterling, pushed me down as a blade swiped over my head. I looked up in time to see a girl, maybe a teenager holding a sword.
I looked as Sterling got up, recovered from the shock, and swiped at the girl.
The girl backed up, then slashed again at Sterling.
Sterling dodged and slammed into the front line of the dead.
The front row stumbled back, then a living dead reached out, only to get kicked off the roof.
As the dead looked at their comrade on the ground, I charged in, and punched a zombie's head.
I hopped away as fast as I could, clutching my fist tight, muttering in pain.
Abigail, who had watched this happen started laughing.
I turned my head as a sword sailed over my head, giving me a new haircut.
Abigail begun laughing harder.
"It's not funny!" I told her, which only made her clutch at her stomach as giggles overcame her.
I hopped over to her, then snached the sword from her with my good hand. "Finders, keepers!" I proclaimed.
"Hey!" she yelled at me as I hopped bravely into battle. As soon as I was about five feet away, I tripped, and the sword flying towards Sterling.
"Watch out!" I called out to Sterling, my eyes widening.
He turned around to face me at the sound of my voice and his eyes widened as he saw the incoming projectile.
I watched as Sterling backed up quickly, and the girl whom he was fighting followed him.
The sword hit true, right into the unsuspecting girl's arm.
She clutched her arm tightly but calmly and removed the sword in a single, smooth motion.
The girl looked up in time to see Sterling's shoes before getting kicked off the building. I could hear her screams as she disappeared into the fog.
Down, down, down.
And then, gone. Like she was never there in the first place.
I looked at the east; the skies were filled with beautiful colors as the sun began rising, signaling the start of a new day. It was when a sense of peace filled me with a loud groan rang on the roof. I braced myself; yet the zombies only looked at us briefly, then retreated without a second move.
