Chapter 9: Friend?

Evelyn's P.O.V

I woke up, a mixture of confusion and laughter came over me when I saw Lin asleep next to me. I shook him him awake and he screamed "I DIDN'T STEAL HAMILTONS PENCILS!!!!". I stared at him and he looked at me, "werid dream. Anyways what time is it?" He asked me, standing up.

I laughed and responded "It's 6:30". He plopped back down on the bed and closed his eyes.

"Wake me up at 10:00" he said.

I shook my head. "I have to leave soon, get up. You can drive me. And we can get coffee," I said and saw him perk up.

"THEN WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!! I. Need. Coffee," He said before pulling out his phone to do his 'good morning' tweet.

I laughed and got changed into a black shirt, a blood red skirt, and blood red and white sneakers. I did my makeup and put on my new sun glasses before I walked to Lin's car.

"Bye Lin!" I called out, running inside. I regret wearing because it's a little cold out today, but my skirt wasn't that short.

I went to my locker, as people stared at me, confused about the nice hair and clothes. The expensive looking sun glasses and nice makeup.

"Your that girl who ran away from the Millers. How could you? Now their fostering some 11 year old. She has bruises everywhere. She's not even aloud to go to school," a girl said to me before walking away.

'What have I done' I thought to myself before walking to my first class period. I'm going to help that girl after school.

Time skip

I sat down at lunch. Nick came over and snatched my lunch. "Your too fat, you shouldn't be eating anything," he said before walking outside with his friends.

I sighed and grabbed my notebook out of my back pack and started writing.

"Why do you write like you running out time," I heard a voice sing. I turned around to see a girl my age standing there with her lunch. "Oh sorry. Hi! My name is Athena. I'm a new student. May I sit here?" Athena said and I looked at her.

"Sure, I have no one to sit with anyways," I answered and smiles at her. She smiled back and sat down next to me. "Oh and my name is Evelyn".

"That's a beautiful name," Athena said, "where's your lunch?"

I looked at her and mumbled "My old foster brother took it because I'm fat..."

"Your not fat, here take some of my lunch," she said, handing me half of her sandwhich and 3 out of her 6 Oreos.

We talked for a while and found out we have some of the same classes. As the bell rang we stood up. We didn't have the same class after lunch, so we said goodbye and went to class.

Time skip

"Bye Athena!" I said before she ran off. She waved bye to me and I waved back. I saw Lin here and walked over to his car, everyone staring at him.

"Ok so there's rehearsal today. Last night I failed," Lin said and I laughed, getting into the passenger seat.

"How did you fail last night," I asked, looking out the window.

"I messed up a little in My Shot. I forgot to sing. Though I only missed the first couple seconds. Other people messed up too though," he said, focusing on the road.
