Tooth and Claw

Help

When Charlotte woke up, she found herself in the back seat of her dad's car. She was laying on a white sheet, that looked like a bedcover, and it was covered in blood.
Her blood. Every part of her body felt bruised and broken. She was in pain, but she wasn't conscious enough to really feel it.
The car stopped, and Barry got out. He came around to the back, and threw open the car door.
His arm's wrapped around Charlotte, as he lifted her from the car.
After walking for about a minute, he dropped her on the floor, and walked away, back to his car.
Charlotte's eyes flicked open, as she watched his car drive away, leaving her behind.
She didn't recognise where she was, but she knew that her dad wouldn't have driven too far away. He was too lazy for that.

Her left arm was still able to move, so she placed her hand inside her bra, praying that her phone was still there. Luckily, it was. She quickly began to find her doctor, Carlisle's, phone number in her phonebook. He had given her his personal mobile number, because of her frequent accidents and injuries.
She found his number, and began to call his phone, hoping that he hadn't gone to bed yet. As it was very dark, and she didn't know how long she had been unconscious for.

She almost shouted out loud in delight when he answered.
"Hello?" He said, in his calm, cool voice that Charlotte so admired.
"Carlisle it's me. Please help me" begged Charlotte.
"Charlotte. What's wrong? Are you hurt? Where are you?"
"I don't know where I am. I think... I think I'm dying. Please come... It's so cold... I'm all alone"
"Stay where you are, I can track your phone. Give me a minute"
"O.K. Please hurry".
Charlotte's eyes began to feel heavy, and the phone slipped out of her hand, onto the pavement.
"I've found it. I know where you are. Charlotte, are you still there? I'm on my way. Don't fall asleep" said Carlisle.
"I'm here" whispered Charlotte as her eyes closed.

It took less than 5 minutes for Carlisle to reach Charlotte, with his son Edward, and his daughter Alice, by his side.
"Charlotte. Charlotte wake up" ordered Carlisle.
Carlisle fell to his knees beside Charlotte, as Alice took a step back.
"Carlisle, there's a lot of blood" said Alice nervously.
"I know Alice. We need to get her back to the house" replied Carlisle.
He placed his arms underneath her and picked her up, as if she weighed nothing.
Alice gasped and her eyes began to go from side to side. When they stopped, Carlisle was at her side.

"What did you see Alice?" He asked.
"You have a choice. You have until midnight to save her. If you don't, she will be dead by sunrise" answered Alice.
"Carlisle, we need to discuss this with the others. If you want to change her, then you will need permission from the wolves" said Edward.
"I know Edward. It seems we are too late to save her, and give her a normal human life, is that right Alice?" Carlisle asked.
Alice nodded.
"Well then. Let's not waste time. We need to get back to the house" continued Carlisle.
He looked around the space, making sure that they were alone, before running off into the night, with his children. At such a fast pace, that wasn't possible for any normal human.

All of the Cullens stood around the bed, watching Carlisle work around Charlotte's broken body.
"I've given her some pain relief. So that she won't feel anything" said Carlisle to his wife Esme.
"Where are the wolves? They should be here by now, we are running out of time" he continued, looking at the clock on the wall which read 11:05.
"Carlisle we need to talk about this. What you plan to do could put the whole family at risk. There is already a large number of us, any more would make it harder for us to blend in" said Edward.
"One more wouldn't hurt" replied Carlisle.

"Carlisle, why do you want to help her so much, she is just a random girl?" Questioned Edward.
"I feel responcible for her in someway. I've been spending a lot of time with her for many years now, and I feel connected to her" Carlisle answered.
Esme walked over to Carlisle and rested her hand on his arm.
"You can't save everyone" she whispered.
Carlisle squeezed her hand.
"I know that, but I want to save just one more. I want to save her".
"Well if you want to, then I will support you. I would love to have another new member in our family" replied Esme.
"Well we should all vote on it, before the wolves get here" suggested Edward.

"I vote no. She is too young to be losing her human life, and becomming one of us. This existance is worse than death. And I wish someone had voted no for me" said Rosalie.
"Come on babe, don't be so harsh" replied Emmett, who stood by her side.
"I have made my decision. Come and get me, when you make up your minds" said Rosalie as she left the room.
"If she joins us, then will we have to leave? Because I can't do that to Charlie" asked Bella.
Instead of Carlisle, Alice answered.
"No. If she becomes one of us, we stay here. I've seen it".

"Well then I vote yes. She is so young, she deserves to have more time, she has hardly had time to experience anything. She deserves a new life. A better one" said Bella.
"I'm cool with it as well" Emmett said.
Everyone turned to Alice and Jasper, who appeared to be having a silent conversation, with just their eyes.
"We vote yes" said Alice a few moments later.
"Edward?" Asked Carlisle.
"I can't disagree with my wife. I'd never hear the end of it" Edward answered. Bella smiled, taking her husband's hand in hers.
"Thank you" replied Carlisle.

"Don't thank me yet. You still need permission from one of the Alpha's. Either Jacob or Sam" said Edward.
"Well Renesmee should be back with them any time now" replied Carlisle.
Bella smiled, "Yes, she should be".
"Was it wise, sending her to fetch the wolves? She is still a kid" asked Emmett.
"Well she wanted to go. Any excuse to see Jacob. Anyway, she is more than a child, she is as mature as anyone here" answered Bella defensively.
Emmett held up his hands.
"Alright, don't bite my head off. Not while you're still a newborn. It won't be long until I'm the strongest one in the house again though. Then you're going down. But until then, I'm not going to fight you".
"Not if we have a new member of the family. You won't be stronger than her" replied Esme, as she began to stroke Charlotte's hair tenderly.

"They're here" announced Edward a few minutes later.
Everyone walked over to the large window's, and looked down at the forest below. Watching, as around a dozen, bare-chested young men began to walk towards the front door.
Amongst the men there were two girls. One who had short hair, and was as tanned as the boys, her name was Leah.
The other girl was much younger, and had long brown, wavy hair, and looked very pale compared to the people around her. Not as pale as the Cullens, but slightly paler than a normal human. This was Edward and Bella's daughter, Renesmee.

"Do you think they will say yes?" Edward asked Carlisle.
"I only need one of them to agree. And I'm hoping that Jacob is going to be reasonable tonight" replied Carlisle, as he looked over to the clock once more.
It read 11:30, and Alice has said they only had until midnight. That gave Carlisle half an hour to convince the wolves, that saving Charlotte was a good idea.
