Charlotte didn't have long to mentally prepare herself for the arrival of a group of werewolves, as they arrived less than a minute after Edward announced that they were one their way. How he knew they were coming, Charlotte didn't know.
As the wolves entered the Cullens house, Charlotte noticed how well built and tanned they were. However, they also smelt rather nasty, like a wet dog, which made them unappitising in her mind, despite the blood she could smell running through their veins.
The pack was made up of 4 males and one female.
The largest of the group, who Charlotte assumed was the alpha was stood in the middle of the pack.
"Sam not coming?" Carlisle asked the leader.
"No. He said he wanted to wait before introducing his pack to her" answered the leader.

"Right. Well, Charlotte, this is Jacob Black, and he is the alpha of one of the packs in our area. Sam Uley is the alpha of the other" explained Carlisle.
Before Charlotte could reply, Renesmee jumped up from the sofa and ran over to where Jacob was standing.
"Jacob" she squealed as she threw herself into his arms.
Jacob hugged her back, before placing her back on the ground, so that she could run off back to her parents.
"Hello" Charlotte said quietly, once silence had filled the room again.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Jacob, and as Carlisle said, this is my pack; Leah, Seth, Embry and Quill" replied Jacob, as he pointed out the members of the pack.

The wolf named Seth was standing at the back of the room, and although he tried to keep his head looking at the ground, he kept lifting it up to glance at Charlotte.
She could tell that he was the youngest in the pack, as he looked closer to her age than any of the others. He was also a lot smaller than them and a lot more juvinial looking.
Something about him kept drawing Charlotte's attention back to him, but she couldn't tell what it was.
Jacob noticed Charlotte staring at Seth, and sighed loudly.
"How much has Carlisle told you about us?" Asked Jacob.
"Not much. You don't transform at the moon. That's all I know" answered Charlotte, returning her gaze to the alpha.

"I see. So he hasn't mentioned imprinting to you?" He questioned.
Charlotte wrinkled her nose, "No, what's that?"
Jacob looked over to Edward who nodded his head and escourted Renemsee from the room.
Some of the Cullens also decided it was best for them to depart. Leaving only Charlotte, Esme, and Carlisle alone with wolves.
"Well?" Charlotte asked again.
Jacob bit his lip and shuffled uncomfortably, before looking over his shoulder at Seth.
"Do you want me to explain?" Jacob asked Seth.

Seth raised is head locking eyes with Charlotte for the first time.
This was when she noticed how insanely attractive he was.
Everything about him seemed to scream heart throb.
Although she had never been that interested in boys before, Seth was everything she would've looked for physically, in a guy.
Suddenly feeling embarressed about what she was thinking, Charlotte looked away and focused on Jacob.

"I guess I'll tell you then" started Jacob, when he recieved no answer from Seth.
"Go on then" encouraged Charlotte.
"Well, in my world, a wolf can imprint on someone, who they would like to be their mate. Now this isn't up to the wolf, they cannot choose who they imprint on. But once it's done there's no going back. You only imprint once" explained Jacob.
"I still don't understand"
"Once you've imprinted, your whole world changes. Suddenly the most important thing in your life is not you or your family anymore, it's her. You would do anything, be anything, that they needed. You will love them and no one else, for the rest of your life".

"But you don't have any control over it?" Questioned Charlotte.
"No, we don't" revealed Jacob, as his eyes flicked towards the door that the Cullens had exited through.
Charlotte thought back to the excited way Renesmee talked about Jacob, and the way his eyes had lit up when she entered the room.
"You- you imprinted on Renesmee" gasped Charlotte.
"I did yes" admitted Jacob.
"But she's a vampire like me. Can that happen? I didn't know that interspecies relationships were a thing"
"Technically Nessie is only half-vampire since Bella had her while she was human. But something like this has never happened before. Normally a wolf will imprint on a human".

"But she's much younger than you. Isn't that a bit creepy?" Questioned Charlotte.
"I don't think of her in that way. I love her, and will do anything for her. But I don't think of her romantically. She is still too young for us to have a relationship like that" replied Jacob.
"I still think it's a bit weird. But I guess it's not your fault, since you didn't choose it"
"No I didn't"
"I'm not sure I understand what any of this has to do with me though. Or why you would feel the need to tell me".

Jacob looked back over at Seth, who hadn't taken his eyes of Charlotte, and suddenly all of the pieces started to slot together in her mind.
"Oh".
"I see you've worked it out" sighed Jacob.
Carlisle stepped forward and approached Charlotte.
"This is a very interesting, unique circumstance. As far as we know a wolf cannot imprint on a vampire, since we aren't technically living. But Seth saw you while you were still human. We had invited the wolves here to vote on whether or not you should be turned into a vampire. But when he laid eyes on you, everything changed" admitted Carlisle.

"Anyone that has been imprinted on by a wolf has to be looked after and protected by the pack" revealed Jacob.
"This meant that they were willing to agree to anything that would keep you alive. Of course we weren't sure if Seth's imprinting would change while you underwent your transformation, and your heart stopped beating. As we weren't sure whether this would make you dead to him or not, since we aren't officially alive either" added Carlisle.
"The other problem is that wolves are supposed to hate vampires. Everything about you repells us; from your hiddious smell to your weird appearence" Jacob admitted.
"Thanks very much" frowned Charlotte.

"What Jacob means, is that no one was sure whether Seth's wolf instincts would kick in and over-ride his imprinting on you. Or whether there would be a constant war going on inside him, between the side that loved you and the side that loathed you" Carlisle explained.
"Well, what was the outcome? Does he hate me, or like me?" Asked Charlotte.
"See for youself" instructed Carlisle.
Charlotte turned back to face Seth, and when their eyes met again he gave her a big toothy grin, and she knew that she had her answer.
