The next few days were the hardest in Charlotte's life, as she had to go through everything that had happened to her to the police, in excruciating detail.
Despite her eagerness to move on and forget the horror's she had witnessed, all everyone wanted her to do was focus on the past.
But the one person Charlotte could rely on to distract her, was Seth. He would do whatever it to took to make Charlotte forget and enjoy her new life.
Even though her new life was completely different to her old one, Charlotte would often forget that she wasn't going to be punished for every little thing. So when she made a mistake or said something she shouldn't have, she kept waiting for someone to punish her and get mad, but it never happened.

After a particularly gruelling day of questioning, Charlotte made her way into the forest to find Seth, who she knew was going to be waiting for her.
"There you are. I was beginning to think they were going to question you all day" admitted Seth, when he saw Charlotte approaching him.
"So did I. But now that's over I won't have to speak to them for a least a week" replied Charlotte, as she sat down on the fallen tree beside Seth.
"They've finished their interegations then?" Seth asked.
"For now"
"That's good then. You can get back to enjoying life again".

"I hope so... I spoke to Carlisle earlier, and even though he said that I'm doing amazing at controlling myself around the police officers, he doesn't think that I'm ready to go back to school yet" revealed Charlotte sadly.
"I guess he just doesn't want to put you in a position that he doesn't think you're ready for" replied Seth.
"But I am ready" insisted Charlotte.
"You didn't feel ready when you met the officers for the first time"
"No, but that was nearly a week ago. I'm much better now than I was then"
"Normally I would agree with whatever you say, and I do think that you've come so far, but I don't think you're ready to go back to school. You would be surrounded by hundreds of humans all at once, and I don't think you're ready for that yet".

"You sound like Carlisle" moaned Charlotte.
"Well he is often right about most things. Besides, you wouldn't want to go back too soon and end up hurting one of your friends, would you?" Questioned Seth.
"No I wouldn't" sighed Charlotte.
"Exactly. Anyway, I think it would be best to wait for this situation with your dad to die down a bit, before you return"
"You're right. I'm probably the talk of the school right now"
"Which is why it would be wise to wait a bit longer before going back".

"Carlisle is also worried about me being alone when I'm there. The other Cullens are older, and they aren't at school anymore. So Carlisle doesn't really want me to go back at all, as I won't have any other vampires to watch over me" admitted Charlotte.
"You really want to go back to school, don't you?" Seth asked.
"I just want to be normal. I want to be a teenage girl again, and not just a vampire. And normal kids go to school"
"Well maybe I could move to your school. We're the same age, so we'd be in the same year at school, which means that I could watch over you"
"Don't be silly Seth, you can't move schools because of me".

"I'm not being silly, I'm being serious. Look, my mum lives with Charlie Swan now anyway, so I'm spending a lot of time in that part of town, which is where the normal high school is. So it makes sense for me to go to that school" admitted Seth.
"But you love your school. It's a place where your people are" reminded Charlotte.
"I do like my school. But I'd much rather go to a school with you in"
"Are you sure about that? Normal high school is a lot different to your small school on the reservation"
"Yeah, it's a big bigger, but I'm sure I'd be able to adjust, especially with you there to help me".

"You're serious about this, aren't you?" Questioned Charlotte.
"I'm very serious" answered Seth.
"Well you need to think about this properly. You can't make this decision alone either. You will need to talk to your mum, and Leah, and Carlisle, not to mention all the people in charge of your school and mine" reminded Charlotte.
"Then that's what I'll do. If going to school will make you happy, then I want to do whatever I can to make that happen for you"
"I can't believe you'd move schools, so near the end of your education, for me".

"I'd do anything for you, I thought you knew that" admitted Seth.
"Yeah, but words are one thing, and actions are another. Swapping schools is a big change" replied Charlotte.
"I know, but it's one that I'm willing to make, for you" revealed Seth.
"What did I ever do to deserve someone like you?"
"You're thinking about this all wrong. I'm the one who is not worthy of you, and everyday that I'm with you, I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have you in my life"
"Now that, was cheesy"
"Maybe, but it's true".

Seth took hold of Charlotte's hand, before taking a deep breath.
"Look, I want to do something, but you're going to have to trust me" he said quietly.
"I trust you" replied Charlotte.
Seth sighed and placed his hand on the side of her face, as he began to lean in closer.
"I'm not sure that this is a good idea" whispered Charlotte, when Seth's face was inches in front of hers.
"I thought you said that you trusted me" mumbled Seth.
"I do. It's me that I don't trust"
"Well I do, and I'm willing to take the risk".

Seth leant in closer and pressed his lips against Charlotte's.
Something in Charlotte's mind exploded as Seth's soft warm lips touched her own.
She lifted up her arms and wove her fingers into Seth's hair, as her lips worked eagerly against his, needing him more every second.
"I think we should stop now" admitted Seth, as he pulled back.
"Sorry, I didn't hurt you did I? I tried to be gentle, but I think I might have lost control" revealed Charlotte awkwardly.
"No, I'm fine. I promise" reassured Seth.
"Good... That was incredible. I've never felt anything like that before"
"Me neither. You really are the most amazing person that I've ever met"
"The feeling is mutual".
