"THALIA! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE AND CLEAN THIS SHIT UP!"

It was 5:00 a.m. in the morning and my dad just got home from drinking. Him screaming at me caused me to wake up from my sleep.

I quickly got off of my old creaky bed and ran over to the living room to find broken glass everywhere and my dad struggling to even stand because he was so drunk.

I bent down and started gathering all the glass pieces which used to be our lamp. But he knocked that down when he stumbled in.

Once I was done with that, I walked back in my room and got back into bed. I was as silent as possible. I didn't want my dad to scream at me and abuse me again.

Ever since my mom walked out on us, my dad hasn't been the same.

We had to move to a shitty neighborhood and we barely ever have food. My dad is almost never home either.

When my mom left, he took it really hard. He went to the bar almost every day to attempt to make the pain go away, but it never did. And soon enough he became an alcoholic.

He used to be such an amazing dad. But when my mom walked out, he completely changed.

Sam was the only reason that I would ever have a smile on my face. When I was with him, I didn't feel depressed, I didn't have to be scared, because I knew Sam was there for me. And he always would be.
