"You didnt think you could get rid of me that easily, did you? Ha you're funny. You're staying with me and thats final. You are not going to continue to live with that boy."

"That boy has a name." Sam said.

My dad seemed shocked. I guess he didn't know Sam was here when he broke in.

"And she CAN continue to live with me. I have no problem with it. She's not staying with you. I won't let you take her. She's suffered enough."

"And how exactly are you going to stop me?"

"Just watch me." Sam said.

My dad changed the subject to me.

"So what do you think you're doing living here with him? I did not give you permission to leave my house and come here. You are my daughter, and you live in my house, under my rules. What made you think you could leave anyways?"

I laughed. Did he really not know why I left?

"Well, if you really don't know already, I left because of you. You abuse me, scream at me, starve me, and more. The only time I ever really eat is when Sam takes me out to a restaurant. When you scream at me, Sam is the one who makes me feel better. One time you abused me so bad that I almost died. And if it weren't for Sam, I wouldn't be here right now. Notice that in all these situations, Sam has helped me. That's why I came to live with him. He treats me right, and I love him. Oh, and one more thing." I said.

I rolled up the sleeve of my shirt to reveal my cuts and scars.

"You are the reason that I've done this."

My dad looked pissed.

"So my daughter is a suicidal freak?"

"She's not a freak. She only did it because you made her life a living hell. She doesn't even feel safe in her own home. She's a strong, beautiful girl and I'm in love with her. She doesn't deserve any of the things you've done to her." Sam said.

"I'm done with both of you."

My dad crept closer to us.

He quickly grabbed Sam by his shirt and lifted him up into the air.

"So you think you can take my daughter away from me, huh?"

I quickly grabbed my phone and dialed 911 and told them my location and the problem.

My dad slammed Sam against the wall as he got angrier.

"SHE'S MY DAUGHTER AND I DO NOT WANT HER HERE! I KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR HER!"

He was holding his neck now. Sam started gasping for air.

"STOP! PLEASE! DAD LET HIM GO!" I shouted.

I tried to yank my dads hand away from Sam's neck, but he was too strong.

The police sirens became more clear and easier to hear as they approached the house.

My dad chuckled as he finally released his hand from Sam's neck. Sam fell to the floor and began to catch his breath.

"Do you really believe this would keep me away? Maybe for a little while, but not for long. They can't keep me there forever. Do you think you've won this battle? Well I'll be back. Just wait."

Sam looked at him with a dirty look as the cops handcuffed him and escorted him outside to the police car.

I seen him watching me through the window with a devious smirk as they drove away.

"Just wait. I'll be back."

Those words echoed in my head.

Sam walked over and hugged me tightly. At first he didn't say anything. He just sat there, hugging me for what felt like an eternity.

Then he finally said "It's okay. You don't have to worry anymore. He's gone, for a long time. It's all over. My baby is safe now."

I cried into his shoulder as he comforted me. My father was going to jail. I never thought I'd be able to say those words.

Thanks to Sam, I can live a happy, care free life. It was all over.

Now I can sleep at night knowing that the man I once looked up to is far, far away from me, locked up. Where he can't hurt me anymore.
