Is that her? Could it be? I slowly opened my creaky door and tip toed across the floor.
I peeked my eye through the creak of the door to my dads room. I seen a brunette woman who's voice sounded very familiar to me.
I had an idea who it was, but I couldn't be sure until I saw her face. I was looking at the back of her head right now.
"I'm taking her with me, I don't trust you."
"She's staying here! She happens to be very happy. I feed her and check up on her everyday to make sure shes okay."
Bullshit. He doesn't feed me. He doesn't check up on me. He could care less about me! I don't even know why he wants to keep me.
"Just stop. I know when you're lying, she's coming home with me. I miss her. I left because you started to change. I left because this man infront of me, isn't the man I married. I'm taking my daughter back."
The woman turned around and started walking in my direction. I stepped away from the door and acted like I wasn't eavesdropping on them.
"NO! YOU'RE NOT TAKING HER AWAY FROM ME! SHE'S ALL I HAVE! SO HELP ME IF YOU TAKE HER AWAY YOU WILL BE SORRY."
I heard my father say. Is that why he keeps me around? Because hes... lonely? The next thing I knew I heard a loud slap and a shriek.
I rushed into that room to see who I think is my mother, with her hand raised to her cheek and her body shaking while my father is sitting there looking like hes proud of what he's done.
"Mom? Is that you? Are you okay?!" I said. The woman looked up at me and smiled.
"Thalia?"
I smiled and nodded. She smiled back and pulled me into a hug.
"Oh my god. You two make me sick. Get ou- Well, actually, Thalia. Come here."
I hesitated as I looked at my mom with a worried look.
"I said, Get. Over. Here. NOW!"
My mom held me close.
"You don't have to do what he says sweetie. I came to take you back. You don't have to worry anymore. Come on lets go."
I listened to my mom and stood up and started walking away.
"Where do you think you're going? I said get over here."
I started walking faster. My dad started screaming. I heard his footsteps get closer and louder, when suddenly they stopped.
I knew I shouldn't, but I looked back. I seen my dad unconscious on the floor with Sam next to him.
"SAM! Where have you been?! I was so worried! Thank you for saving me, once again. Seriously where would I be without you."
"I'm so glad you're safe. I was out buying you a present when Kian called me and said you were looking for me and that you left the house so I went back and you weren't there. So I came here. And I'm glad I did because I don't know what I'd do if he hurt you or if you weren't here with me."
I gave Sam a kiss and hugged him as tight as I could. Then we all got into my moms car and drove away.
"Is it true? Did you leave because of him? Because he told me you left because you hated me."
"Oh don't listen to anything that man says. I can't believe that's the man I once fell in love with. I don't know what happened to him. But it's not true. I left because of him. I couldn't handle it anymore. But for years I've always regretted leaving you here. But I didn't have the money to come back for you until now. So here I am. You were the only reason I stuck around for as long as I did. You were my little sunshine in a world of darkness. You made me smile when your dad left me in tears. And I regret leaving you here with that man. Its the worst decision I've ever made in my life, and I'm so sorry. All I ever wanted to do was protect you, and I failed. I'm sorry Thalia. I'm so sorry."
She started to break down in tears.
"Mom, its okay, I forgive you. Because if you didn't leave me here, I never would have met Sam. The one person who understood me and accepted me for who I am. The one person who always listened to me and helped me."
I said as I took Sams hand in mine and looked into his eyes and smiled.
"I love you Thalia."
"I love you too Sam."
