Days later and the party was close, which made me still nervous about going. After days of thinking I have finally agreed to go, but I didn't know what to wear or what to do, or how I would act when I get there. Would people say bad things like that red hair man said to me?
I remained in my room for the last couple days in a nervous wreck, staring to rethink going to the party and Rykal's party. At this moment I just felt like staying in this room and never leaving. Meis and Siphon would come in and speak to me, and even Chad at one point, and even Bubba. But was strange was he would usually come into this room and speak to me more than anyone else here, including my brother. The only time I spoke to him was across the balcony, but the conversation was short and he seemed to be in a hurry.
I felt a bit lonely since nobody would come in here, and now I was sitting alone for a whole day. I didn't blame anyone else for my loneliness since it was my fault, since I was trying to battle my fear of if I should go and if I shouldn't go. I wanted to, but I was scared of the crowds. I didn't know if I could make it standing in a crowd, and if I couldn't make it in the city how would I do it at a party when the crowds wasn't moving?
This thought made me feel bad about my stupid anxiety.
The door knocked and my head turned to look at it. I stood up from my bed and stepped towards the door, "Who is it?"
"It's me," Chad's voice came through. "Can I come in?"
I opened the door and let him walk inside, and I was surprised when he walked inside with a strange fabric in his hands. I left the door open as he walked inside and to the foot of my bed to place the fabric down, and I saw that it was a pretty tan color dress with a train from behind and low cut front and yet beautifully made.
I looked perplexed at the dress.
Chad spoke in a soft voice, it reminded me of back in my world, his soft playful side. Not the harsh always grumpy side. "I got you a dress for that party tomorrow. I came in here to ask you to come with me."
I looked at the dress and sighed, "I'm not going, Chad."
"I'm forced to go because of Carna, you have to come with me. I'll be there every step of the way."
I shook my head and turned my back to him, crossing my arms. "I can't take crowds. I... It makes me nervous and this party is going to make me scared."
"I will be there," He repeated and he stepped closer. "Look, I'm sorry for my attitude since we've been here. I've just had a lot of things in my mind, and this party is going to help spread the word about our mother. Just come for a little bit and you can leave, I'll be with you the whole time."
"I still don't know..." I murmured.
He hugged me tightly from behind, picking me up off the ground and spinning me in the air. "I will not put you down until you say yes."
"Chad!" I shouted. "N-No! Put me down!"
"Say you will come with me, and then come with me!"
I laughed as he spun around more and more until I was getting dizzy, I squirmed. "Fine, fine! Let me go and I'll come! I think I'm going to barf."
He stopped in his tracks and threw me onto the bed when I bounced once and then stopped. He just remained standing while laughing himself, walking around and to the door, "Now I'm expecting you to come. That dress wasn't cheap, neither."
I giggled, "I'll come."
When he left he shut the door behind him I realized that now I had to go to the party.
