Thin ran to the edge of the river and tried to reach out for the saddlebag. But it was too far out, and the current was strong and the water was deep. The saddle bag was floating away from him. "Tomas, get over here, I need your help!" he screamed out for his friend.
The two both quickly grabbed a large tree branch. They both began to maneuver the tree trying to hook the saddle bag on the large tree branch. "Thin, push to the right." said Tomas, "I think we got it? Yes, we got it, pull the tree branch back." said Thin as they pulled the saddlebag out of the water dropping it on the ground. "Wow, that was not easy." said Tomas "It is my father bag, wait, this is the bag he put Lukie in." said Thin as he began to pull the zipper open. When Tomas look inside, "Hey, Lukie still trying to escape." he said with a smile. "Don't worry, we'll get you out of there." said Thin as he tried to open the jar to set Lukie free. But the boys were stronger enough.
Meanwhile, Mark is gasping for air, as the truck began to sink slowly filling up the truck with water inside. Mark called out for help, over and over again. "No one knows I'm here. I'm going to die and my fairy floated down the river. My buddy told me if you catch a fairy you get nothing but bad luck, I didn't believe him, but now I know." he said as he continued to gasp for air as he proceeds to try to get free.
Lukie began to scream, "Hurry your father is in danger! Hurry! Hurry!" he screamed as he jumped up and down inside the glass jar. "Hey look it looks like he's trying to tell us something." said Thin "It looks to me he's doing a rain dance. But if you think he's trying to tell us something, try to figure it out." said Tomas
Then Lukie jumped up and down, "Break the jar! Break the jar!" he screamed tapping on the glass, trying to explain what was going on. The three began to play a game of charas. Both of them trying to guess and read Lukies lips and hand signals. This was making Lukie anxious. He knew that Thin's father didn't have much time, but he also knew that the boys had no idea that Mr. Mark was at the bottom of the river. Once the little air he had run out, he was done, unless he gets the door open. Mark was getting desperate. He quickly began to kick the truck's front window. "I'm not going to die this way!" he thought, afraid and scared. He keeps thinking positive.
Tomas held the jar for a while, trying to open it. "What's wrong with your dad? Did he have to close it so tight? Here, you try to open it now." said Tomas who now passed the jar to Thin Who quickly began to also try to free Lukie. Lukie is talking and making a sign indicating for them to slam the jar on the ground. They still didn't get it, "I think he wants us to tap the top a little and then try to open it again. Watch I have this." said Thin as he tapped the lid on a rock and then he tried to open the jar once again. Lukie look at both of them shook his head and sat like an Indian at the bottom of the jar. 'It's going to be too late." he whispered as he covered his face with his hands.
