Chapter Twenty Two

"Nero was a dickhead who killed Christians because he was afraid of being over ruled. That's basically the summary of this whole lesson." Milly complains. I chuckle and hand in my report to my professor. All she ever does is complain about school and I don't blame her at all. I can't wait to graduate either.

"You have any plans this afternoon?" I ask her when we were just heading out the building.

"Yes," she beams. "Believe it or not, a certain curly haired boy offered to take me on a date."

"Oh wow, I wonder who it is?" I say sarcastically, making her laugh and hit me on my shoulder.

"Hey, he doesn't ask girls on dates so that's something." She says with a dreamy look.

"That's sweet." I say. "What happened to Carrie?" I ask her. They've been hanging out a lot! What a bitch.

"Oh she's in QIU..." I gave her a confused look. Carrie doesn't know anyone there, does she?

"What's she doing there?" I ask her. She chuckles and takes her phone out of her bag.

"You may not know this but Niall really likes her and she's giving him a shot. They're so cute together, you have no idea."

I cringe at the thought of them together. She doesn't deserve him! He's too good for Carrie! Niall's too sweet and adorable; carrie'd not hideous but she's satan's fucking daughter.

"Stop it, they're really cute together

"Forgot to ask you how was the apartment tour with Louis yesterday?" She asks me.

I tell her all she needs to know and what happened, excluding some details. The place is really big! Doesn't look like your average student flat, its a flat for professionals. The living room is the first thing you see then a kitchen on the right with the dining area and everything. Up the stairs are two bedrooms and a single bathroom in between but not connecting. The whole apartment is fully furnished. Not with crappy worn out furniture, but new modern ones. There's also a glass balcony with the view of the Thames River.

When we got out the building, Harry's waiting on his car. He looked like he was talking to himself or something. He looked nervous too, that's for sure. I gave Milly a nudge, turns out she's been daydreaming. Harry saw us and his eyes popped out when he saw us.

"That's your cue to go." I whispered to Milly. She nodded and ran up to Harry's car, getting in the passenger seat. They're both nervous, I can tell. Harry forgot how to drive the first few seconds and almost hit the car parked infront of him. What a klutz.

Today is Thursday so I told my aunt I should get back to work so I have money for certain stuff I need. I hopped on a bus to go to the supermarket where I work. I've been skipping work for a while so I wonder how my manager will react. I guess no matter how old we get we still have that habit of skipping duties.

When I walked in the supermarket, it was as if it was just a normal day in the life of Meg. I went in the employee's locker room, hoping no one's there but apparently someone was.

"And she's back!" Lauren yelled, throwing her arms in the air, ready to give me a hug. Remember Lauren? The one who fixed me up before my date with Louis after working hours? Yeah I haven't seen her for a while.

"Hey," I smile and hugged her back. She's actually the only person I talk to here Besides Louis but then he got his coaching job every Sunday that pays twice as much.

"Wow, you look different! What kept you from coming back?" She asks.

"A lot of things." I say quietly. She laughs and picks her ID up from the rack.
